They're all under recent contracts.

How the F do the Eagles keep doing this?
They gave up a third round draft pick (they had two). Would we have given a third for Phillips?

Excerpts of thread from eagles reddit

Howie has figured out that if you have good drafting, under the current rookie wage scale you shouldn't pay any non-Top-10-at-their-position players. You lock up the top talent with big contracts and then fill in the gaps with rookies and cheap vets, and play the comp pick game to keep the rookies flowing.

What that means is that we will continue to see above-average starters walk after their deal is up and get paid elsewhere, because we can make the 3rd best player the 3rd highest paid at his position, but we can't make the 15th best player the 15th highest paid at his position. Guys who normally would be like "ok, he's a solid starter, good but not great, let's sign him to a mid market deal" are all gone.

They let some good players like Milton williams walk, get some compensatory pick and then have a random dude like moto ojomo pick the slack and have the production of Milton williams at a vet minimum contract.

So if you have studs you resign them , others you need to let go and then build continuously via draft. You cannot be lazy and incompetent like what bill was in his latter years at Foxborough.

We need to develop our own Milton williams and landry . Those contracts are slight overpays because of the lack of talent but once Maye ascends even more we should have the best of mid tier free agents flock here to provide performance at a bargain price like chaisson.

I haven't seen any high priced eagles free agent busting out or underperforming . That's the key. The dollars are well spent.

@203Pat R Shaheed is way better than Kyle Williams it's not even close. We're well of aware of the N.E. Patriots Rookie WR history and its not good. Because of our history: I'm not patient in that area.
I mean, Boutte was a rookie just 2 years ago.

People are clamoring for Jakobi Meyers... a guy who was developed... by the Patriots.

A few weeks ago, people wanted to give Demario Douglas the heave ho. Despite him catching 60+ for 600+ yards last year.

There seems to be a little evidence that young WRs can indeed develop in New England.

I personally would not have traded a 3rd. Maybe a 3rd for Hendrickson…but I’m seeing they want a 1st

The history of Belichick's drafting WR's has absolutely nothing to do with this team. And your lack of patience has nothing to do with the team, it's because like a 3 year old you want everything now, and are incapable of allowing any player to develop.
It's also odd that the names we're talking about, like Jakobi, were indeed developed in New England. And the loss we're lamenting, Boutte, was also a Patriots draft pick. Not to mention Demario.

???
Unless you talking about players who are in their last year, WAS ia firmly looking to the future which is 2026.

I predict that Dre'Mont Jones or (more likely)Arden Key will be a Patriot in the next 24 hours. Key is more likely because of his familiarity with Vrabel and his defense (he played for Vrabel in Vrabel's last year with the Titans) and he is a bit older and in the last year of his contract and the Titans are more likely to move.

The OPEN question is who is available who would likely help our 2025 playoff run and the 2026-2027 team.
============
Is it worth a 6th for a player who would help us in 2025 only? Of course it is. We have a chance THIS year, as WAS did last year.

Of course, we would love to get a top player for now AND the future. Of course, that would likely cost a large contract and a 2nd or 3rd, not the 5th or 6th that posters seem ready to give.

Howie Roseman constantly picks up former first rounders.
Seems to work out pretty well.
Great trade deadline for Eagles 2 cbs and a DE

I doubt pats trade for anything other than a JAG if they make any trades at all

Trade Rhamondre for a serviceable edge rusher.

I don't think Washington will be sellers. Although their season is lost, they think this season was lost due to injuries and not that they have to rebuild. That means they are less likely to give up assets because they will feel they will need them next year when they return to being a playoff and maybe a Super Bowl contender.

Teams that sell are in rebuild mode and know players they are trading won't be with them anyway or way past their prime by the time they are good again.

They’ll make a trade or two especially if Boutte is out. I don’t think it’s going to be for anyone huge though. Hope I’m wrong.

Watching last night's game I was digging on the Seahawks throwback uniforms and I'm just bummed that the redskins uniforms are gone for good.

The Deebo move to the Redskins always felt weird.

Kindof surprised there's not more chatter or speculation about Tony Pollard as a RB on the trading block.

He's not going to break any long runs but he's good for 4-5 yards and a lot of dust - as well as a credible short yardage receiver.

I almost feel like the LACK of Patriots/Pollard buzz might be a good sign, whereas the Eagles have leaked word about everyone they've been interested in.

And Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley and Brandon Aiyuk.can you imagine how tough we would be to stop if we used 10 receivers and Maye. Unstoppable. We wouldn't even need a defense.
Why stop at 10? If we don’t need a defense play WRs as all 22, er I mean 21 plus the QB of course.

Alexander has played 2 games this year and is a shell of his former self.

There a reason the Eagles only had to give up a 6th to get him and a 7th back, because he’s a JAG!
