Yeah, that’d be ideal. Acquire Hall, extend him…trade/release Stevenson in the offseason & have Hall, Henderson & whoever else in the backfield for at least the next few years. That’s about as dynamic as you can get at the RB position, unless of course you have someone like Bijan, Saquon or Jahmyr.
I have been thinking the same.

Next season could be Hall, Henderson and Gibson.

Here's more trade speculation. Veteran safety Budda Baker to the Patriots for a 5th round pick.

I think he would be a great addition to the team. That's the one area of weakness that is my biggest concern and will help us down the stretch.

Trade speculation Article: MSN

Waddle recently signed a 3 year deal that puts his salary at 28m per year.

The Patriots actually have the cap space to afford him.

He's currently on pace for 1,100 yards this season.

I know trades in the division are less likely but if they will part with him for a 2nd rounder, he could be a premium player for the Patriots and really help open up our offense even more.

No way the fish trade Waddle to the Patriots

Our top WRs are on pace for just under 1000 yds each.
I like what we have, not shipping a 2nd for Waddle.

Pretty please.

Like I said, in division trades are lower chance to happen.

But the trade makes sense financially because the Fish are going nowhere this year.

They get draft capital and they unload a big salary so they can focus on rebuilding.

Meanwhile Drake Maye gets a serious weapon in Waddle who can unlock defenses so there will be a lot of one on one matchups to be had.

We'll give em Pop Douglas for Good measures a poor man's Tyreek Hil.

What does this mean?
Waddle is going to command more attention than Diggs, so now Diggs or Boutte in 3 WR sets will be more open?
You think Waddle is getting double teamed every play?
We have a top 10 passing offense right now.
According to Google:
Jaylen Waddle
does not get double-teamed frequently compared to other top NFL receivers. He had a double-team rate of 21.15% in the 2025 season, which ranked 7th lowest among qualifying wide receivers.

I think people just like the sexiness of adding what they think is a significant upgrade at WR, even if it isn't.

Yep. Let the young guys develop and add another prospect in the next draft.

Unfortunately some people have no patience at all, and want to mortgage the future to fulfill their wet dreams now, regardless of the cost. They want to end up where the Jets and Fish are in a couple of years by mimicking the moves that put them there.

Yup.
And for more context, Waddle has played one more game than Diggs.
Currently Waddle averages 6 more yds per game than Diggs.
But somehow he's going to "unlock" our offense.
Come on man.

Waddle is a proven commodity. Or we could draft the next Tyquan Thornton or Ja'Lynn Polk instead with that 2nd.

Let's be brutally honest here our drafting at the WR position over 2 decades has been amongst the worst in the league.

Williams has skills that are evident, just needs some time.
And who says we would pick a WR in the 2nd with the pick you suggest we give?
Plus, Bill had all the power in our past drafts, and he was very bad at picking WRs in the first 2 or 3 rounds.
He's gone, new regime.

I think you all are missing the point with Waddle in regards to who he is playing for now and who is throwing him the ball. Trash and Garbage.
Waddle is fast, has great hands, and would be a great addition.

Waddle is unlikely, but he would be a fantastic addition.

Budda Baker seems the most likely and would upgrade the S position. Here's the feedback from NFL execs going into the season:

Rank 8 for top 10 S's.

"Voters just can't quit Baker, the oldest player in the top 10. He is going on six consecutive Pro Bowls and is still a menace at the line of scrimmage.

While appearing on every ballot is impressive, his lack of ball production -- zero interceptions and five total pass deflections since 2023 -- hurt his standing this year. But from a tone-setting standpoint, he remains elite.
"Unreal production when moving forward," an NFC executive said. "Missed more tackles this past year but made a ton of plays behind/at/near the line of scrimmage. And he played all 17 games."

As one NFL coordinator put it, Baker frequently limits big plays with his tackling, which offsets his low interception totals. His 164 tackles and 10 tackles for loss were among the best at his position in 2024.

The Cardinals also miss Baker dearly when he's injured, posting a 1-9 record in games he's missed. He has been durable considering his size (5-foot-10, 195 pounds) and physical style of play often lead to injury.

Some here want every wide receiver, no matter who they are. And had the Patriots been successful getting them they would be broke and they would suck. Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Brandon Aiyuk, George Pickens, Tyreek Hill, Marvin Harrison Jr. and many more. Fortunately Vrabel knows better, spent their free agency $$$ primarily on defense, and is letting their players develop and produce.
