NFL TOP 100 : Favre #20 Ray Lewis #18

Farve, like Jerome Bettis, can only say they are good becuase they were fortunate enough to have long careers.

Neither of them ever dominated their position ever. There were always players who played better than them, they just outlasted them.

Farve's career numbers stink. 500 TDs 300+ INTs

Top 20 all time and he throws 1 INT for every 1.6 TD he throws?!?!?!

Hall of Fame meltdowns in big games, continually the SOLE reason his teams falter in playoffs. The one championship he did win, was not becuase of him. Reggie White, and Desmond Howard had more to do with that SB than Farve.

Farve being so highly regarded through out the NFL is a joke to all others who play and didn't have Madden juggling his balls his entire career.

You guys are getting away from the point here.
Manning is #1!...

Farver used and abused painkillers illegally to get an edge during the 90's...he's the Sammy Sosa of the NFL...shouldn't even be in the top 500

You are kidding yourself if you don't think that is the case for a vast majority of the current players. The only reason he came clean is because he became addicted.

This would have been a good read for the mediot voters (forget the fan based voting which was tortured and featured lots of voters who probably can't read let alone comprehend what they may).

At the end of the day cumulative statistics prove nothing beyond an ability/opportunity to accumulate them... TD to INT ratio and performance in 4th quarters of close contests - when it matters most in the win or go home games...

Also of interest to some of the Brady wafflers hereabouts should be the broader comparison of Brady to Manning from 2007 to week 4 of 2010. Keeping in mind too from a cumulative perspective that Brady missed out on a whole year in that limited time frame where the NEP focused on offense in the manner the Colts had been focused for a decade...

The Unfinished Story of Why Tom Brady is Better than Peyton Manning - Pats Pulpit

Hall of Fame meltdowns in big games, continually the SOLE reason his teams falter in playoffs.

I don't know of a hall of fame caliber QB that can say he has as many playoff performances in which, as you say, he was the standout reason his team lost.

In 2001, he threw SIX picks against the Rams in the divisional round. SIX! That's absurd.

In 2002, he blew a 12-4 season by playing like garbage and getting blown out on his home field against the 6th seeded Falcons. He was under 50% passing and threw 2 picks.

In 2003, he threw an overtime interception in the loss to Philadelphia.

In 2004, Favre threw 4 picks at Lambeau Field and the Packers were blown out by the 8-8 Vikings.

And of course, the 2 back-breaking picks in the NFC Championship games in '07 and '09.

At least when Brady has had bad playoff games, they weren't all out meltdowns that completely cost the Pats the game (aside from last year against Baltimore).

I don't get Farve - Sure he's been durable, holds records, and Won a Super Bowl. But he's the same guy who's ruined 3 teams seasons over the last 4 years, GB in 2007 with that 2nd Half meltdown in the NFC Championship game, 2008 Jets with the late season destruction due to injury and of course the Vikings last year, again with the poor decision making and INT's and then the horrid play this year.

This is the SAME guy they are praising, It seems that if you stay in the league long enough, that you get a pass on the destruction you cause at the end of your career.

Stupid. Really.

couldn't have said it better.

Ray Lewis does deserve the honor though. He's a freak.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think that is the case for a vast majority of the current players. The only reason he came clean is because he became addicted.

That is an outright lie....name the vast majority of NFL players who abused painkillers ILLEGALLY...I'll wait...this should be a hoot watching you make an azz of yourself just to come running to the defense of Brayette Farver.

1) Apparently, many here think Favre would have been a better candidate for the top 20 if he had retired earlier.

2) We disregard the nfl poll and the more tortured fan vote. We strongly believe that the fans and the nfl are out to get us and put down our quarteback and players whenever they can. There are names for this medical condition.

3) The consensus, over and over again, outside of Patriot Nation, is that Brady is not one of the top ten players of all time, yet.

4) The consensus, over and over again, outside of Patriot Nation, is that Manning is indeed one of the top ten players of all time.

Our conclusion, again and again, is that either those outside of Patriot Nation are ignorant, stupid or just out to get us.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think that is the case for a vast majority of the current players. The only reason he came clean is because he became addicted.

The only reason he came clean is because he got caught and was facing not only suspension but Deanna threatened to file for divorce. His ego couldn't have withstood that hit, so he played the victim card - which is his eternal ace in the hole. He's already leaked to Ed Werder that after forcing his start today because of his miraculous healing propensity, if he does come out it will be because his injuries are too devastating to overcome as opposed to because he's an insubordinate ******** who can't stay on script and Chilly is wishing he never sent that entourage to Kiln to talk him back in. (Which we all know was an assinine move since had they simply ignored him and moved on he'd have shown up just to spite them.)

The Sterger case is ramping up this week and supposedly Brett has made the classic mistake of lying to the commissioner because he apparently convinced himself she wasn't going to cooperate. Now she is meeting with the NFL the end of this week, will reportedly contradict what Brett told the league about the texted photos..., and she is considering persuing a case against the JETS as well based on their employee facilitating the contact that enabled Brett's persuit of her. He must be in a position where he can't settle (Deanna) or won't (the money matters too much to him). I expect if this proceeds he will have a tearful sex addiction presser to announce he's seeking treatment like the wounded warrior he always is...

Settle a bet, go look at an article about the Pats on a national website. How many people in the comment section mention "spygate", cameras, cheating, and say that those things were the reason for the Pats' dynastic success. If you don't think that a large number of people outside New England still believe that Brady and the Pats actually won (even after the 2007 season) because of "spying", you're burying your head in the sand.

Yet we here have many reasons to argue that statement over and over again.

Favre gets his votes based on legend that is largely ego driven myth. And his penchant for making mediots jobs easier.

Fans and mediots resent the only dynasty in the modern NFL for their very success and lack of cooperation with media agendas. There's a name or two for that as well as for what you do here...

Concensus based on perception created by a longstanding media bias against this QB whose potential they all failed to recognize and continued downplay in denial until the mindset was so firmly planted within jealous football fans it became their defense against him and his deamonized genius HC. As opposed to the concensus they embraced because it was easy not to mention coached by a media darling. Skewed perception is a sorry by-product of the 24/7 proliferation of sports media and the celebridization of athletes, coaches and even sports mediots themselves over the last decade or so.

I think it's a reasonable conclusion given the facts simply don't back a logical alternative.

I sincerely hope they rank Peyton Manning at Number 1. It would be the perfect horse**** cherry to top off the bull**** sundae of a top 100 list.
