They could have at least given off the appearance of going after Manning with the same ferocity that they went after Brady while Manning was still in the league.
The NFL knew Manning was retiring (everyone did) and waas never going to investigate him while he was active. For some reason the Donks are one of Goodell's favorite franchises and I have no idea why.
I'm guessing the interview went like this:
RG: Come in Peyton! (hugs and kisses)
PM: I did nothing wrong!
RG: We all know that Peyton. How about lunch, on us of course.
PM: Yeah! Got any chicken parm?
RG: Sure Peyton, anything for you. Would you autograph my stuff on the desk?
PM: No problem, but I have to catch a plane, right after my chicken parm of course.
RG: That's my boy! (hugs and kisses) I'll make the announcement you are cleared of all suspicion asap.
PM: Thanks Rog (hugs and kisses)
