Re: Warren Sapp says Jeremy Shockey was the Saints bounty Snitch

I don't get this post, What do you mean rat? how do you know that the player who originally shined a light on this Saint's policy complained to the staff that it was not right to try and injure another union member?

It is like some of us fans that blame Mangini for BB getting caught with the camera.

Do you think it is right for a team to be involved in by encouraging their players to hurt players on another team? Do you think there is any excuse for that behavior?

There has always been payback for dirty players and dirty players expect it. Hines Ward never complained about getting hit away from the ball because he loved doing the same thing.

These are guys who are trying to make a living playing a very dangerous game. There is no reason to try to make it more dangerous.

you go to war with 52 other men...then, when the war is over, you leave the unit...and rat out your whole unit...the same unit you were a part of ...the same unit you never said squat about the whole time you were in it...that's a rat....a rat has no good reason to be seen, heard, admired or protected...you use conjecture..how do you know that the player who originally shined a light on this Saint's policy complained to the staff that it was not right to try and injure another union member? and then attempt to use that as evidence..well Payton says he knew nothing about this and certainly never heard anything from Shockey about it.

Anytime I read something to that effect, every ounce of sympathy that I had for Saints fans evaporates. Blackandgold.com is pretty ugly right now.

The funny thing is, they're already going through the same steps that we did as fans. One part trying to organize an NFL boycott, one part claiming that the league office has it out for you, one part pointing to other teams who went unpunished after being caught doing similar things in the past, etc. etc. Yet--especially on the last point--no matter how much willful ignorance they encounter from other fans on the issue, I doubt they'll ever stop to consider that they're equally ignorant re: Spygate. That's just not how humans work.

I had the opposite reaction, though I am not saying your reaction is wrong. I feel badly for Saints fans - the Saints and the City of New Orleans rank near the bottom of teams and cities I would choose to see this happen to.

When I got married last year the rehearsal dinner was in the upstairs room at Acme. Love that place.

When's the best time to visit NO, seasonally speaking? I would love to take a three or four day getaway and I have been dying to go there.

April or October. October is the best month in my opinion but you still run the risk of a late hurricane.

They got exactly what they deserved....and they should have lost a first rounder as well. If you look at the film clips they have running from 2009-2011....the hits were ESPECIALLY BRUTAL. Some of the most vicious were on Favored during 2009 playoff game. Countless roughing passer, excessive force...eventually took him out of game with a final cheap shot. Picture about 7 Bernard Pollard's on a defense..and that was the Saints that year....and still played dirty thru last year. They now will await the suspension s of several players as well...which is coming. Deplorable stuff and I'm glad they got what they deserved....sorry Pherein ..

You know when the "spygate"(Still hate that frigging media term as EVERYONE is stealing signals....EVERYONE!) BS was going on I was getting from all sides from guys I worked with that were fans of other teams .....one of the nastiest was a Saints fan. " Belichicks a cheater. No wonder the cheatriots won so many games. He should be banned for life. Pats will never get over the embarrassment of this scandal etc.....and all I said was Listen, they all try to steal signals, they are ALL trying to figure out the codes to the plays....EVERYONE'S doing it. He said I was being a Homer. So when news of Saints scandal breaks...what does he say? This is bullsh*t.....EVERYONE is doing it. Funny how things change when shoe is on other foot!

Oh, believe me, it is pure comedy gold around here in "Ground Zero" (New Orleans). Their talk show hosts (which I rarely listen to anyway, because they are such insufferable homers), are now calling for "league wide" investigations, in the name of "fairness", a la "everybody is doing it". Funny, I did not remember them calling for that, when we got hammered by Rog-Jet, back in 2007. We know damn well everybody was doing that as well. Why do you think Rog-Jet destroyed those tapes? Because it "incriminated" a number of others as well. Many of them were cheering him on, when we got hit. Now, all of a sudden, he is a no good SOB here in NO. Amazing how the worm has turned, and they are sadly trying to put this on "moral equivalence" to "Spygate". And, then trying to explain to them what the Pats actually got hit for (location of camera, not the actual use) is wasted on them. Personally, having dealt with their fans so much, I wish Goddell would have hammered them even worse than what he did. And, for "lagniappe" around here, icing on the cake would be for Brees to tell them to go pound sand, and go elsewhere. Speaking of him, he might want to tone down his "demand" for an explanation from Goddell, because he already said if further evidence of more wrong doing surfaces, steeper penalties could be forth coming, if I heard right. If he really wants an "explanation", I am sure that is easy to find on the internet, or from Tom Benson himself. I am sure Goddell sent him a report.

Yeah its amazing how many "BUT THEY CHEATED!!" posts I've read on their boards, several citing the Rams walk through. ignorant tools.

To funny you do a lookup for restarts in virginia, you never get 10 3-4 stars in a row

You hangin in there, pherein?

If I understand this correctly, they are being treated much more harshly than the Pats were for Spygate.

Belichick: $500,000 fine but no suspension; Payton: no direct fine but a year's suspension and loss of salary or north of $4 million. Probably gone from the Saints and will have to convince another owner that he's worth the money and risk...hmmm...the successor to Wrecks next year?

Williams: Indefinite suspension suggests he might be done in the NFL. No one suspended for the Pats

Loomis: eight weeks suspension and a $500,000 fine that it isn't clear whether comes from him or the team. Or is it $500 from each? No one suspended for the Pats but $250 fine to the team.

Draft Picks: Pats lost a number one; Saints lose two number two's. Significant because they don't have a first this year so the choice was either to let them skate this year and hit them with their first next year or do the two two's on the assumption that a one and a two was excessive. Most importantly, this means that they don't pick until number 91 this year, which seems a steep penalty as it works out.

So, all in all, this looks fair and much harsher than what the Pats faced.

But the idiot Gaspar still seems to be saying that What Belichick did was worse.

I haven't heard him say that at all.

Read his article in the globe. He also says "the league never said what the Patriots were doing with the tapes and quickly destroyed the evidence." Funny how people say this but then no one mentions that all of the Walsh tapes were shown on television and they were exactly the same thing as the Jets tape that Glazer got a hold of. I'm starting to think you don't need to do actual research to be a journalist, you just need to say crap to get hits.

thank god i don't read the globe. but it is amazing to me how dense some boston sports writers really are.

My guess is that you never went to war or you would not be using that analogy to a football game. You compete against another team of players just like yourself. you try to score more points not injure them and take a chance on ruining their livelyhood. Not to defend Shockey but to say he is afraid of bringing something to the attention of management, you certainly forget why he was run out of NY as he went behind the coach to the front office multiiple times. the player/s who did this also were collecting a needed paycheck, just because the guy does not want to risk his job at the time of his employment, what do you expect a martyr.

Payton was liar, If Goodell was not positive that he knew what was going on, he would not have suspended him for a year. There is talk that they handed out the money during Mondays film review.

Now the fans of NO know what the hatred we as Patriot fans have towards Fuerhrer Goodell. Like this isn't a widespread practice around the league? Yeah ,BS. NO got hit hard, but he had to go nail them after hitting us that hard.

I really don't know what your problem is today, but you are having a really good time misrepresenting us.
You call payton arroigant , make fun of us having 1 good year and the team that actually got involved in the community , and bash our fans for having opinions. Your on a roll today BC, don't let me stop you.
Im sure you can make something up about our food that isn't even close to fact.

Pherein - First off, the Patriots are among the league leaders in getting involved in the community. And they don't need a catastrophe for them to do it.

Secondly, it is people in the media who are reporting about Payton being arrogant. And, when you look at the fact that he outright lied to the commissioner of the NFL and then got caught with the EMAIL that showed that he knew about the program, what else can you call it but arrogance?

Third, No one is bashing the Saints fans for having an opinion. However, too many Saints fans are acting as if what the Saints did was no big deal and that what the Pats did was tantamount to sullying the good name of the game. Yet, any TRUE fan knows that it's the exact opposite. Attempting to injure opposing players is sullying the name of the game. Taping opposing coaches for use at a later date is what was no big deal.

Dude, it sucks, but you have to admit that what the Saints did was pretty friggin stupid. Especially the numerous lies that the coaches and players have told. I mean, the league released a 5000 page document citing all the issues and the results from their investigation. That's worse than a Supreme Court ruling..

Best thing to say. What they did was wrong. But I still love the TEAM. And leave it as that..

Re: Warren Sapp says Jeremy Shockey was the Saints bounty Snitch

lock in a sock...facetime...nothing lower than a rat except a child molester

See.. that is BS.. He's not a "rat" for reporting the team for illicitly trying to hurt other players. Only a moron would think that.

Also, CBS has already come out and said that Sapp is talking out his fat ARSE. Shockey wasn't the snitch.

Sorry, but Rapists are worse than "snitches".

Sorry, but that is the idiot gang BS talking. Not to mention that it's an INSULT to men and women who are actually going to war. And, even then, there are things you DON'T do. And, IF you do, then you deserve to be slapped in IRONS because YOU are the problem, not the person who reported you.

Joker, you generally are a damn good poster, but your speculation is absolute BS. And this whole "RAT" thing you are spewing is so unintelligent it's ridiculous and beneath you.
