This is undoubtedly a depth draft. There’s very little in the way of elite, generational prospects at the top. Not sure that there are really any.

Have a $20 bet with a friend that 3 QBs will be already off the board before his Steelers are scheduled to pick at 20. I’m feeling pretty good about that bet at this point. That might be the best chance for the Pats to trade down. Maybe, Detroit trading up from 32 for Corral or the Cincinnati QB.

If there is very little in the way of elite, generational prospects at the top, why wouldn't the Lions trade down from the #2 pick, while still picking before the Panthers, and take any QB they want?

They might consider a QB at 5 a bigger reach than a non QB at 2.

It's harder to find trade partners who are willing to trade up for a non generational/top QB prospect, because those teams in that pick range usually have bad rosters and just need talent almost everywhere.

Might. But if neither is a generational talent, why not gamble on the QB? Detroit needs a QB.

Agreed. So Detroit will not get great value for their "trade down" but if they love one of the QBs, might as well take whatever they can get and then pick their QB of the future. I suspect that the QBs all are projects so Detroit will not not trade down from #2, and by the same reasoning, will not trade up from #32 for a QB prospect either.

I think that someone will want to trade into 21 if one of the top WR's is left on the board, GB is a good possibility. They might want to guarantee their top choice at that point, trading their 22 or 28. Otherwise someone else might jump ahead of them.

if i am the lions i either go with KT/Hutch if they love one or try to trade down. If a QB they love is available late first i would trade up just because of the value to the position. I think they know they need a different QB for the future so until they find him they need to take shots at the position. Otherwise they aren't going anywhere imo

Agreed. But it is statistically unlikely that a great QB prospect will fall to 2nd half of the 1st round when there are so few QB prospects. Trading up will only cost the Lions more lost draft picks they need. Maybe they sit at #32 and take a developmental QB, but I doubt they will trade up, and lose a 2nd or 3rd round pick, in order to "roll the dice" on a QB gamble.

I still think BB was angry Cooks put himself with a lack of awareness to try to make a play in the SB.
Him getting injured and leaving the game cost us the the win.
I think BB was so angry he traded Cooks for that main reason.
Not that he got hurt but the fact his lack of awareness caused him injuring himself on the biggest stage.
The moment that injury occurred I turned to my buddies and said BB is trading or releasing him.
We can argue Bill thought Tom’s deep ball lost something and that is where Brandin really shines.
I believe it was that play in the superbowl that sealed that fate.

No it didn't...In fact the team became more efficient on offense after his depahture.

I don't think BB ever makes any personnel moves out of a raw emotion like anger. That's amateurish in any occupation.

Ummm...Same game as Brandon Cooks' injury...Anything else about it ring a bell?

I think a change of scenery would do him well.
BB was reportedly high on him.

PEagles sign Olympic hurdler (and Duck WR) Devon Allen. I thought this was an April fools joke. As a huge track fan, I'm hoping this works out, although he hasn't played in 6 years (when he had a season ending knee injury).

Recent Pro Day: 4.35 / 7.23 3cone / 34.5 VJ

Didn't the Fecals also draft an olympic skier about a decade or so ago?

I remember a player melting down and letting down his teammates

They hate him down here in Philthy almost as much as we hate Harry.

If I had been told immediately before kick-off that I would not be playing ANY snaps at my position for other than performance reasons while ****ING INCOMPETENT ****ING GARBAGE replaces me, then **** yeah I'd be pretty dam emotional too.

yup, it could be a scenario where idk a howell , corral is available and the lions just take a shot. It may not happen because teams picking late usually have their qb but the bucs could very well select one if they don't believe trask is the answer. i get jordan love vibes thinking about this scenario

I agree. Oddly I believe someone might trade up from the top of the 2nd round, but not from the 1st round (#32 for example gives a 5th year to Detroit if their speculative QB pick hits). From the beginning of the 2nd round (plus another 2nd or 3rd in a trade) there might be a perceived talent difference if Jordan Davis or Williams fall to #21. Is the player at #28 that much different than #21? In this draft I am not sure (based on the jumbled predictions of the mock drafts). But there is some consistency of opinion who belongs in the top of the 2nd round versus at #21, so there is a perceived difference in the 2nd round selections which might motivate someone to trade up with 2 picks for #21. I think @captainstone first suggested this (trading directly into the 2nd round), and as it unfolds I think we either hold fast at #21, or drop into the 2nd round. I doubt there is anyone looking to move up 10 spots or less in the 1st round. The Pats might want to drop down a few slots, but I doubt there will be any good offers to do that.

He did it to himself.

Despite the best efforts of his apologists on this board, Bill is not going to look good in the rear view mirror. The media that Bill has so held in contempt will have their say, and the words of Gronkowski, Asante Samuels and Ted Johnson will carry far more weight than Bill’s loyal supporters. I suspect there will be more long knives to come in the future from former players once Bill retires or his reputation starts to decline. You’re going to see a lot of piling on.

You neglect Gronk’s elbow injury. You neglect to mention that after a great career here the most Gronk was paid was $4.5 million less than Jonnu Smith was paid, didn’t earn and never will last season and for 3 more.

The future is bleak for you Bill first, Patriots second fans. Maybe, a sub forum can be set up for you to commiserate.
Seems like it's time for you to move on, maybe become a Jets fan/supporter
