It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Once again erroneously comparing Lamar Jackson to Michael Vick.Again, different eras entirely. Tom Brady's stats in the first half of the dynasty look much different than the second half and into his Bucs era. He is one if not only QB who really straddled the old NFL and the new one.
In the decade following Bill Polian whining to the competition committee and changing the rules, added to the rules when the league woke up to the lasting effects of concussions.... yellow flags doubled. There was more pass interference than at any point in history, there was no more Ronnie Lott or Rodney Harrison sitting in the middle of the field waiting to take your head off.
The game changed dramatically. 60% passing two decades ago looks like 70% passing now... the rules make it much easier. Vick was Lamar Jackson, Lamar is Vick... only the game has changed. Neither is/was an accurate passer... their coaches use scheme and they use their feet to get receivers wide open. Defenders can't destroy Lamar like they could Vick, because he can just slide. If Lamar was a good passer he'd be like all the other good passers in the NFL, he'd be attempting 30-50 passes a game. Harbaugh limits the amount of passing Lamar does, even if they have tried to limit his rushes in recent years given his health and his pass attempts have increased.
Tom Brady or Mahomes could thread a needle, Lamar gets it within a few feet... there's a big difference in accuracy.
You and I both know the one reason why Wozzy compares Lamar to Vick….It's not about stats. Lamar Jackson is very different from Vick. Did you watch the game? He was dropping dimes all over the field and his receivers were dropping them. Vick couldn't do that. Lamar doesn't bail on every play to run like Vick. Lamar Jackson is middle of the pack on attempts. Josh Allen has less than 10 more attempts on the year than him. Matt Stafford who is a pure pocket passer averaged 2.5 more pass attempts per game than Lamar. Drake Maye averages about the same amount of attempts per game. He attempted over 30 passes in half his games this year and attempted over 40 twice.
Great post and 100 percent agreedIf you wouldn't take Lamar Jackson get ready to be disappointed for the rest of your Patriots fandom, the chances the Patriots get a QB as good as Jackson in the next 30 years are slim to none.
Maye was throwing picks at the end of winnable games yet people seem to have already deemed him a franchise QB but they wouldn't take a soon to be 3x MVP?
6 straight years of no playoff wins…that’s the patriots legacy to date since passing on Lamar twice.Seven years of excuse making… that’s Lamar’s legacy to date.
Will the bills finally beat the chiefs in the playoffs? Spoiler alert, no.
Why?You and I both know the one reason why Wozzy compares Lamar to Vick….
This conversation was over a week ago… move on with your life.Once again erroneously comparing Lamar Jackson to Michael Vick.
41 Touchdowns and only 4 INT on 474 attempts says otherwise. Keep exuding that enviousness.Lamar has eclipsed 4000 yards passing once in his entire career… this year. He’s only eclipsed 3500 yards twice in his career, last year and this year.
All it took for him to eclipse these milestones was for the NFL to increase the number of games and for the Ravens to realize Lamar was never going to stay healthy unless they let him run less. He only played 12 games the two season prior and missed the playoffs entirely in 2022.
Don’t tell me he is a top passer, he’s a runner whose threat of running is so great he opens up easy passes and goal line opportunities.
If he broke his leg, it never recovered fully and he was forced to become a full time passer… his career would sink like a stone. Without his legs his career would be over.
LOL, Phony ran through big enough holes my grandmother could have scored on. Had we drafted the Georgia Bulldog actual starter, Nick Chubb, Chubb would have ran for 2,000 yards behind that NE Online and 200 yards every playoff game. Sony was a slow untalented mega bust considering the offensive talent acquired after him.We won a ring with Sony, we’d have zero rings now with Lamar. I’ll take the one ring thanks.
They also didn't want to have a suitable contingency plan for life post brady, which is why BB failed and got himself fired. Draft Lamar and we go to the playoff every year 2019-Present. BB is probably still around.Drafting Lamar would have required a big change in offensive game planning, philosophy etc. Bill and Josh had no desire to do that. It worked out I guess with the 2nd Rams Super Bowl. They didn't want to reinvent the offense with someone like Lamar.
Lamar folds like a cheap futon in the playoffs. Envy? Sounds legit…41 Touchdowns and only 4 INT on 474 attempts says otherwise. Keep exuding that enviousness.
Chubb couldn’t pass block, he never would have seen the field with Brady. This isn’t fantasy football.LOL, Phony ran through big enough holes my grandmother could have scored on.
