NFC Championship Game: San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons

I think the runs are "settling down" the ATL defense.

Yep, it's also what SF does best. Excellent awareness by Harbaugh not to let the defecit dictate what they do and start pressing.

EVERYONE was picking SF in this game. Just like Denver vs. Baltimore last week. It seems like SF was a bit complacent about this one. I'm sure BB will be hammering this message home to the Pats. No let up.

Not quite everyone....

Guys the game isnt over, take it easy with the Harbowl being over talk...

9ers gaining some steam now through the ground
Never underestimate the ability of Atlanta to choke away a lead.

i still love seeing DL realize that the OL is letting them go by, and then they do a complete 180 and run towards the screen

love seeing that every time

"discipline"

Picking Atlanta is one thing, calling 17-0 early 2nd Q is another.

SF needs to show up.

Regards,
Chris

not to toot my own horn but:

i chose Bal, and i chose ATL

(only one i was wrong about last week was GB)

You need to be wrong on at least one of those counts this week.

The screens and runs up the middle are setting up the ATL defense. You could tell Kaepernick was gonna keep the ball on the delay of game play: ATL defense was clogging up the middle and giving the edges.

that safety was slowwwww

Re: NFCCG Game Thread

SF's defense hasn't been the same since Justin Smith got hurt against us. I don't think he's physically able to hook linemen and open up passing lanes for Aldon Smith the way he was before. SF was never a blitzing team, and their CBs aren't exceptional. With Chris Clemons injured last week and without any pressure up front, even Seattle's much better secondary couldn't hold up against the Falcon's WRs.

Agreed. For this reason, I am cheering for the Niners.
Hopefully, like last week, ATL settles down and loses the lead.

It's not over yeat, but I'm still going to enjoy it for now.

Good call by you then, regardless of the outcome. I've had Seattle and SF pegged as the 2 best teams in the NFC for months, and I really didn't expect Atlanta to show this much spine. I assume that anything can happen, but Atlanta has surprised me so far in the playoffs.

Have a feeling SF is gonna figure this out. I don't think Atl. is that good.

Nice...and we have a ball game now.

knife through butter that time

That's why we want Atlanta to win. Their run defense is sub par.

A very good point. I have to wonder how many surprises BB has saved up, especially with Brian Daboll coming on board and adding his experience to Josh McD's.

Yeah, I see maybe see a surprise today for the pats but I expect some in the SB if we make it. SF seems to have come to their senses but Atlanta needs 7 more.

Re: NFCCG Game Thread

Kaepernick's incompletions even look good. Geez…is there anyone in the NFL with more arm strength than this guy?

Nice drive by SF. Let's see if their D seizes the momentum

i meant to say i "chose" BAL (as in last week) and i "choose" ATL (as in this week)

i never choose against the Pats

Two important series coming up for Falcons, on offense and defense. See where the momentum is going.
