Site News New: Sortable Snap Counts, Personnel Groupings, etc. (Updated 9/18: Player Substitutions Added)

I don't agree
I would like to see some of the back ups get a series each half. keep them sharp.
now we hear Moses is in a boot, and Bryant has yet to play a single snap
Bryant's been playing special teams, so he's been getting playing time, just not on offense. He's in on field goals and extra points:

Just made some additional modifications to this , adding additional context, total plays to make the percentages make more sense, etc.

Updated with player pages:

Wow what a cool tool - I'd have to think that the Fantasy Football community would really be in your debt on this one (literally, figuratively, or potentially both! )

But just from a football geek standpoint it's pretty cool. I'd think once the data is there one might even be able to see trends over time - which even from a macro level of how a season evolves due to injuries and improvements, would be fascinating!

One of things that this helps show is how much of an impact the new players and even rookies are having - with our rookies having considerably more impact than some of the heralded picks coming before them.

#1 pick Travis Hunter is an interesting comparison. He's playing as much as any starter in total at 131 - the equivalent of 100% of the time - but split 60/40 spending more time as a receiver, or about 71 snaps on Offense. He's had 9 catches for 55 yards with one receiving 1st down.

#38 pick TreVeyon Henderson has played only 44 snaps but has had about the same amount of production as a receiver with 8 catches for 54 yards, and two receiving first downs. He's also picked up 2 rushing first downs on 8 carries averaging 4.6 yards per carry and overall, 5.7 yards per touch.

So when it comes to comparing the Jaguar's TH and the Patriots TH, the Patriot's 2nd round pick is giving MUCH more bang for the buck than the #1 pick in the 2025 draft.

And while I think it's ultra cool to see him playing both ways, even on D, Travis Hunter has all of 3 combined tackles.

Well, our #106 pick Craig Woodson looks pretty good in comparison with 14 combined tackles, 9 solo.

Now my apologies if this contribution winds up creating a salary controversy as I'd say both TreVeyon Henderon ($11 million) and Craig Woodson ($5 million) might have a case to make for a new early contract if they continue to surpass the stats of Travis Henry and his $50 million contract!

Added something really cool this morning. You can now see player substitutions:

Click on "Offense" or "Defense" under "Type", and then select "Drive Substitutions"

That will show you everyone who came in/out of the game, along with the total number of substitutions by quarter , first half, second half, etc.

Also, I was digging back through and cleaning some things up, and noticed a bug in the field position affecting the red zone numbers, which should now be accurate.

Found a bug in the personnel groupings. Fixed it, and the totals now match the overall snap counts correctly.

One final update - this now makes it so that, if you're in the personnel groupings, you can click on the position and it highlights the players (RB-TE-WR). Was trying to look at how many times Henderson and Stevenson have been out there together and I thought my eyes were going to bleed, so I just made that fix.

this tool is awesome
appreciate your time and effort
I like to review and dissect snap totals and this tool is fanrastic
thank you

Mentioned it in that post, but the reason why that might look off is because Henderson and Rhamondre were on the field for four of those snaps. He was also out there with Gibson for one snap.

yes I see that on your attached tool.
that acknowledged, but I would still like to see him and Brown get a series each half in real time offense. get a sense of Maye's cadence. playing beside Onwenu (or Wilson). XP speed and game speed are different imo

It’s a continuity thing. And it’s tough, because you can do that when you’re up by a big margin or getting blown out, or if it’s week 10 and they’re 3-7. Otherwise, you run the risk where if one of those guys gives up a strip sack or allows someone to hit the back early and it causes a fumble that costs them the game, it’s not worth it.

The other scenario is like last year where you had guys where making a move didn’t matter because everyone was not great and it was more or less a lateral move. But let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.

Added a position filter to both pages to make comparing playing time by position a little easier for those of us with older eyes.

Updated - cache with Cloudflare is cleared. New version(s) should be appearing now:

Fixed this again. Adding the filters apparently broke the substitutions. Everything should be working. The time stamps are all there so that you can cross reference those against the game books and see who came in/out before a given play, etc.

Updated through this week:

Also added "First Play Personnel Group:" on the substitutions, along with substitution summaries per drive and for the game.

I am having a small bet with myself that "Myles Bryant, DB" isn't what you meant to type, @Ian
LOL, no, that's a weird one. Those get entered in under their abbreviations, which pulls the info from the roster and it also ties them into the stats database. I've had a few instances where I've forgotten to change it to Ma.Bryant and it's crossed Marcus Bryant up with Myles Bryant (who is in there under M.Bryant), which is @captain stone 's favorite player.

I fixed it. Also run into the same thing with Marcus Jones (causes Mac to pop up), and if I forget Carlton Davis, it pulls Carl Davis, etc. An added wrinkle that comes with doing this to keep me on my toes. Good times.
