Site News New Forum Layout Now Available (Report any Bugs Here)

It’s really just the recent discussion thread titles. And it isn't consistent. Sometimes the links work.
Those only work when you're logged in due to an issue with how Google crawled/viewed them - so I removed them unless people are logged in, then they work. However, one odd thing is that the session isn't consistently picked up in this new iteration site-wide the way it was previously, which is kind of annoying.

Interesting. I'll check the next time it isn't working and see if it still has me logged in or not.

Look at the top navbar when you're on the home page before you click out. If you see the icons and your avatar, you're logged in (or it's at least recognizing the session). Otherwise, it will say "Login | Register."

It's annoying because it's really inconsistent, and you can usually tell because the ads also load. I haven't dug into that yet because I'm still fixing some things here and there, but it's definitely been kind of a pain.

Q: How many programmers does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: None. It's a hardware problem.
==============================
A programmer puts two glasses on his bedside table before going to sleep. A full one, in case he gets thirsty, and an empty one, in case he doesn’t.
==============================
A man flying in a hot air balloon suddenly realizes he’s lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts to get directions, "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"

The man below says: "Yes. You're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."

"You must work in Information Technology," says the balloonist.

"I do" replies the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," says the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but It's of no use to anyone."

The man below replies, "You must work in management."

"I do," replies the balloonist, "But how'd you know?"*

"Well", says the man, "you don’t know where you are or where you’re going, but you expect me to be able to help. You’re in the same position you were before we met, but now it’s my fault."

No, I just tried it and it shows me logged in and the link still refreshed the main page.

Got you. I'll have to troubleshoot it further. The bottom button takes you to the main page, so I wonder if maybe the div it's in is expanding and covering over the links the way the thing over the weekend was here. Has it been doing that for a while? Or is that new?

EDIT: Saw you mention it happened before too. I'll look into re-doing that block. Front page needs some work anyway, so I'll take care of it.

The number of users I'm ignoring count is incorrect under pf_left_menu_bar_button

Absolutely no rush. I use the dropdown menu as a workaround. But it was something I meant to mention.

Interesting. What is it showing for a number? (You can direct message me if you’d prefer also if you’d rather not post it.)

It's showing 1.

This has been corrected. Should be reflecting the correct number now.
It is fixed, thanks.

Two comments, the font size is pretty small. 10 px looks okay for me. It does intrude a bit on the icons. Second is the grey background and white font color makes the contrast difficult to discern. With the white font, an all black bg looks okay.

It's funny, I was sort of thinking about this, so I appreciate you doing the visual. Any number greater than "0" was going to be another color, but I didn't think red made sense given that most people will more or less never have zero on a lot of the categories and it would be annoying to constantly have a red alert. So, I was like "I'll at least get it working and get back to it." - and then never did. You're right, the black looks good, so I'll definitely make that change.

So far, so GREAT!!!

Great suggestion. This is all set.

Does Sandy Johnson count as a bug, or is that more like a tick?

Ended up finding a simple solution for this. Should be active now.
Yup, I see back and forward now, much easier to navigate.
Thanks Ian

Why am I still seeing "New" when it's an old thread I Already answered or left?
As I said before, if you could seperate the old/new a little better it would be good... maybe you can't do that.
