I also miss the ability to toggle on ignored posters in case I’m missing some context in a discussion

Yeah, I saw that also regarding the page thing. Seems to be a change with this version of the software. I’ll have to see how tough it would be to modify that.
Planet is the same, no page buttons up top.
That was a useful feature.

That darker blue link above is definitely harder to read on my phone in Dark mode.
Is anyone else having an issue with going into a thread you've been in numerous times (without logging out), but not landing where you should (next post after last time you were in there)?
Sometimes I go back to a thread, and I'm way further back than I should be.
Didn't know if anyone else is seeing this, and if it has anything to do with the update.
Thanks
@WhatJustHappened its not just on mobile. Dark red font on dark blue is really hard to read at times on any devices. Depending on the word in red for instance if its a large username, it gets squished and pushed together and makes it one big word that you can't tell what it is unless you really look at it. Maybe it's just me in my old age and not being to see as well but I really have to squint at times to see users names. It really helps to know who we are attacking/making fun of at the time (just kidding). Maybe a lighter shade of blue would make it easier to read, not sure yet, When quoting someone is the worst because the blue background for the quote is darker than the normal forum blue. Don't mean to nitpick but want to help in any way. Helping you eat your own dogfood....a term we use in IT when testing out things (im sure others here know it well.). =)

There's a ton of old code that I got rid of, which seems to have helped quite a bit and lightened the load. Have a couple of small things I have to modify for caching purposes that should also help for busy times like game days, etc. But for the most part, things should be better moving forward.

One thing I've observed which I don't favor the implementation of is pf_left_menu_bar is left justified and pf_sidebar_table is right justified. The left at least should be near the center of the main, block-container lbContainer. The left bar is out in the periphery along with at least, 145 pixel space between the center and the left?

That's the other thing, that 145 pixel of dead space is distracting. The left toolbar looks like an orphan.

It's meant to be a utilities menu, and that additional width is because there are selections that come out to the right, such as:

And obviously, the slideout menu:

But the bigger thing is that left user menu will also be morphing at some point where you'll be able to click, and it will widen with more information and then collapse back down, but I wanted to get the board switched over and then add those modifications down the road. The further I got into it, the more "I should also do this..." became a thing, and I was more focused on making it available to you guys rather than make people wait forever until I got it all done.

Also, that block was 100% empty in the last version. Trying to take advantage of it this time around and there will definitely be changes as I get some other things going again later in the offseason.

Looks great, Ian. Your work is always appreciated!

Although I need an option that makes the site look like I'm reading data reports or boring company valuations or something so when my wife walks by I look like I'm working on my computer. I image those in the office would want that for glancing co-workers. (maybe next iteration in 2026)

It's a LITTLE DIFFICULT to judge Threads with new posts on mobile/Dark. New is bolder, but maybe could be a little bolder?
Maybe whiter? Dunno.

When the Forward/Back buttons up top are gone, I keep going back to threads I've already read, and it requires me to go all the way to the bottom to figure it out.

BTW IAN, I'm NOT Complaining, just saying what I see can be reconfigured.

Nice work, appreciate all that you do.

BTW I am a supporter, I just sent you a PayPal donation without telling you who it was, my mistake.

No worries. I’ll look into modifying that as it’s definitely kind of a pain to not have those. Just have to deconstruct that part of the software, but I’ll figure it out.

Thanks for the hard work to make this the BEST PatsForum there is.
We know you work hard to make it so, it does NOT go unnoticed.

Thanks Again Ian

The back-forward buttons missing suck, but the "New posts" button would fix that..
It hasn't worked over here on mobile even once since the update.

I don’t think this is tied to the new layout, as it happened before, too, but on my phone, when I’m on the main page and click on a recent discussion, it just reloads the main page.

That’s odd. Can you screenshot that and circle where you’re clicking?

It’s really just the recent discussion thread titles. And it isn't consistent. Sometimes the links work.

That one's interesting...I hadn't noticed they'd done that, but I think I can fix that one. Should be similar to the solution I put in place for the "Mute" function, which shouldn't be that difficult.
