Unless you meant to post this next week, I believe we are TWO weeks away from the draft or am I missing something? The mock draft itself is pretty reasonable. I don't think Horn will last that long though. I hate Costello as a player. I think we'd be better off grabbing another DB/S type player, which BB is good at picking late or as UDFA's, but it's nitpicking once you get past the 4th/5th round.

You are correct ... I can't wait for it to be Draft Day!

QB's are projects but everyone else is a big win. Horn, E Moore, Meinerz, Brown are all coming in here making noise this year. Big win just on those guys alone.

Aren't all QB's projects? Only two QB's drafted in the top 5 of the draft have ever won a Super Bowl. Granted they are drafted by the worst teams, and are usually fed to the lions right away, ruining their confidence and development.

Sorry, I stopped reading after you passed on Mac Jones at #15...I mean, it's one thing to refuse to part with multiple high-round picks for these guys because they're such huge unknowns...I wouldn't do it either...But to not take one of them if they're still available at #15 itself?!? Never.

If they were lucky enough to face the Detroit Lions, their confidence would be bolstered.

The only way Bill will go CB is if Jackson leaves (doesn't seem likely) and he decides this is Gilmore's last year.

Other than that, it would be a massive risk for Bill to use a high pick on another DB who won't play much.

Unless it's a QB, I'm confidant this will be a draft that Bill will go for now players (at least for the 1st two rounds).

Are you sure about that?
Off the top of my head, Terry Bradshaw(4), Plunkett (2), Elway (2), Aikman (3)Peyton (2), Eli Manning (2) six guys and 15 Super Bowls
EDIT- Len Dawson, Namath, Earl Morrall,Bob Griese (2) Jim McMahon
Total 11 guys drafted in top 5 have won a total of 21 Super Bowls.......

Unless BOTH Gilmore and Jackson are here in 2022, we will need a starter. If we draft an OT this year, he will be our swing OT for 2021.

That's what Williams was for back in 2019. Bill's track record on drafting DB's hasn't been good as of late and has allocated way too much high draft capital at that position. I would be absolutely shocked if he takes a DB with Jackson signed.

I think if there is a player available that fills a need and can play now, Bill will take him.

I'm guessing you wanted to add "in the last 30 years" (and also remove non starters like Wentz and Bledsoe), but I'd been looking at the QB draft history list often, and that fact didn't even register. Geez.

Curiously, some don't think that the draft is all about finding players that will be major contributors as rookies. Also, many think that the draft is about finding and developing future stars and starters).

1st and 2nd rounders are for guys who are either now players or starters by year 2.

I think Bill is going to target that this year.

OK. but I'd say potential starters.

In any case, it seems very reasonable to look for 2022 starters at OT or CB. Extend both Gilmore and Jackson, and this isn't necessary.
Pick up Wynn's option, and a LT starter is less needed.

No.

You have guys starting at different points. Prospects that have more physical gifts. Players that can process info quicker.

I mean everyone can improve but a project is someone that needs real work just to get on the field.

Specifically for a guy like Newman or Mond. There are times where neither looks the part and that is huge, at least with with me it is. If you can't keep the trains running on time, hit or miss - erratic, never completely owned a system, to where you can say "he can run/do this is thr NFL" with consistency. That's where I'd throw in the word, project.

If all 5 QBs are gone, then I can absolutely see Bill using his first pick on either Surtain or Horn, and both would be very worthy of #15 overall.

Caleb Ras-IR Farley is another matter completely...as is Any Feckin Safety...
