I don’t think B.B. works that way. It’s not this guy leaves plug his hole, it’s what players are available at a good price that can help the team.
I think B.B. looks for opportunities to get good players at a good price. Sometimes he has too many in one area, and cuts the ones who don’t win jobs. That will happen at wr because we gave too many. Sometimes a position is left short because he won’t reach just to fill a spot, and he adjusts his scheme to account for it.

It’s too simplistic but it’s like give me the best 60 players based on value vs cost and I’ll figure out which ones don’t make it and build a scheme around those who do.

He caught 80 passes the last 2 years.
I don’t see him getting 50 reps a game but if he makes the team he will definitely have a role in the offense, probably made up of wr runs, screens, short passes and an occasional deep shot.
