You forgot the biggest fact that cements BB as a terrible evaluator of WR talent in the draft.

He gave Thomas Demitrof of the Falcons the advice to not trade up for Julio Jones but instead to stay put because he could get Jon Baldwin and that basically they were the same player.

So yeah, bill thought Jon Baldwin the bust was equal to Julio Jones who is possibly the greatest WR of his generation.

I get your point, and don’t entirely disagree with you. This is a big prove-it year for JMD as well. You just don’t have to beat us over the head with it over and over again, though. We got it the first five times.

Maybe move onto your next victim or, gasp, post something positive about the upcoming season. Having a positive outlook/opinion on some players or the season in general does not make someone a “homer“. This site has had an unbelievable explosion of curmudgeons over the past two years, who only seem happy when they are complaining or bashing. I don’t get it.

One of the funniest things that Harry's agent said was that Tom Brady really worked with him and if Tom were here he'd be a bigger part of the offense, something like that (comparing Brady looks to Newton looks at Harry)

There also is no principle saying that you would weight the horizontal position stack by glamour or need, if I understand correctly.

So I see where you think the prob. is separating tiers within positions, but if the stacks work to emphasize value at the draft position regardless of need or glamour (or incorporating but not determined by need/impact--not to be confused with glamour), this is what you'd predict of his draft strategy at WR. Here you go -- this was a receiver available at no. 32 overall. That ain't where you get a world-beater blue chip lock. That's where you might get a good receiver, you might not. But complaining that a top 10 pick got wasted is a little different from expecting a lock at 32 overall. Quick excuse note: We don't draft high, and you've got to factor that in somewhat. Now, to never hit with the high picks, or at least for the last few drafts, that falls into just clumpiness in crap shoot data, but it also falls into the explanation "he can't draft wide receivers until the 5th round."

I mean, I don't think BB's drafting is necessarily fantastic, but he tends to build overall rosters that win super bowls. We'll see if he gets back to that after 2020, which I for one wrote off fairly early- worst impact from off season losses, worst impact from opt-outs, and the QB ended up affected by COVID. Not to go excuse crazy for 20, I just dont think it's predictive of 21, unless of course it is. If it turns out he's still building those winning teams, and the specific WR position gets the worst of his draft strategy, does it work or does it not?
