The organization and players have spent years (some a lifetime) to achieve this. You think they'd just blow it off to prove a dubious point?
I do agree 100% with Flasox and others that this media circus and circulation of the "Pats cheating again" meme is so damning to the franchise that Bob Kraft has to address this and support the organization, regardless of the outcome may be, or how long the investigation takes.
Yup. That whole taping practices and walkthrough stuff is what people believe Camera-gate is. I have seen it on plenty of sites that reach millions of people. And, as you said, the former head of officials, who worked for the NFL when Camera-gate happened, lists Tomase's "report" as being true. I am so tired of having to defend all this crap. It's probably too late already. Driving my kid to school this AM here in S Dakota, a call-in poll comes on the local Top-40 radio station - Should the Patriots be allowed to play in the Super Bowl this year? The conversation continued like this:
Male DJ - "According to sports websites, not only are the Patriots and Bill Belichick accused of deflating a bunch of footballs during their game with the Colts, but now reports say they also did this during their previous game against the Ravens, a game that they barely won 35-31!"
Female DJ - "Oh wow!"
Male DJ - "Some callers say that Belichick should be suspended for the Superbowl, or half a season next year"..
Mike Pereira yesterday listed 'Taping the Rams walkthrough" as one of his 3 strikes against the Patriots
On Francesa's FS1 show yesterday, the background graphic had a 'List of Patriots Transgressions', which had 2 lines for Spygate (one was the accusation, the next was the punishment), and right after that ... 'Taped the Rams walkthrough before Superbowl 36".
Thanks to Kraft's inaction, Tomase, and Goodell's stupid handling of things, this is the legacy of the Patriots going forward.
kraft should tell goody that hes had enough of the media driven bs, any other team and this would be a none issue. so any disciple would result in a suit against the league. thats how al davis would have handled it.I think he should quietly go about his business and quietly let Goodell know that if he bows to media pressure, the Ray Rice disciplinary situation will be issue number one at the owners' meetings.

Bob Kraft alone can't threaten goodies salary, he'd need a majority of owners for that. And I know ha wont take legal action, he's not that type, but he should threaten to.Kraft doesn't need or want to sue the league. He just needs to threaten Goodell's $40M/year salary. That should be ample motivation. No need to go after his own Golden goose.
Personally, I wonder how it would be embraced if Kraft gave everyone a big **** you and boycotted the SB? I might actually enjoy the hell out of it.
I think they did it because of you, schmess.
I kid, I kid.
