You also don't speak for everyone. Lots of egos in here. Grow up or leave... on who's authority? Yours?

I don't recall thinking you're a jackass but you've convinced me here.
I’m speaking to you…not everyone. Patsfans is Ian’s site. Be respectful of the rules.

Be respectful of the rules.
FORUM BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES:

1) Avoid Insults In Making Your Point

Well, I did just call you a jackass but generally I'm pretty good about avoiding personal attacks. I can think of a few members who live by the opposite of this rule.

Also found in the full description of this rule:
  • "Not using responses that attack someone's intelligence, character, fan allegiance, etc."
The fan allegiance alone is routinely violated. Not by me (unless I'm talking to @MAC10 but he now admits he's a Chiefs fan).

2) We don't hold grudges, there are no personal vendettas, etc.

This is a rule mostly explaining why Mods delete posts.

3) What about if the poster is an idiot? Why would you let idiotic posts stay?

Again an explanation of Mod operations.

4) Someone called me an idiot/moron/etc. and you/the mods didn't delete their post, so why was mine deleted?

Again an explanation of Mod operations.

5) If you become a habitual offender, it could be a problem

Offender of Rule 1 I suppose.

6) "DISLIKES/DISAGREES HOLD ZERO VALUE"

More of an explanation than a rule.

7) If all else fails, use the ignore features

Don't fall into the trap of trying to shut someone down through insults seems to be the gist of this one.

8) No one likes a consistently negative person

Well, I'll get accused of this but I know the full extent of my posts and I've offered several favorable opinions. Even of some things post-'19 but at the very least no one talks up the greatest player in the history of the franchise more than me.

9) Absolutely NO Politics in the football forum

Not guilty.

Hey, overall not bad.

My daughter, who has a neurological condition which was rather dramatic during adolescence, had a couple of years where she compulsively had to have the last word in everything. It was entirely chemical in her brain. Fortunately she grew out of most of it, and learned to control the rest.

I think Belichick pretty much made Tom Brady. Ask me tomorrow, and I may have the opposite opinion. It really depends upon who I am trying to piss off.

For this thread, I believe Belichick and Brady would have been average at best without Kraft's handy leadership.

And that emoji making the jerking-off motion is great. What kind of sphincter complains about an emoji?

Let me summarize in the most succinct way possible:

Once you understand that, everything else gets easier.

I love me some @Ian

I mean, when you look at the dude from afar it’s actually laugh out loud how patient and kind this dude is. Spends countless hours building, maintaining, listening…. And when the gang is difficult, he comes out of the fog and calmly asks us to be nice.

Love that guy.

I couldn't resist giving Craw the horse reaction. All of his posts are like asking ChatGPT to "Write a post saying Mac or BB sucks at least 3 times. Include lofty praise for Mahomes and Lamar and Josh (especially Josh), and/or all other HCs. Try to make the post seem like it's about something else, like signing Hopkins or something."

You also don't speak for everyone. Lots of egos in here. Grow up or leave... on who's authority? Yours?

I don't recall thinking you're a jackass but you've convinced me here.
With all due respect, you came into this thread complaining that people are using this new emoji on you a lot. Folks responded with reasons why, and you basically used the “it’s a free country!” defense, which could just as easily be applied to people using the emoji on you…

At the end of the day, no one’s gotten booted. We’re talking about emojis.

Didn't happened. That's not what I said. I mentioned one asshat who spammed a bunch of my posts with it. Otherwise I said the emoji was redundant and annoying. Repeating oneself is an epidemic on message boards, it's just the way it is. As is echoing the same sentiment as others. How many times for example have we read Patricia ruined last season? How many different threads? If we're distributing this emoji fairly then it would be attached to half of all posts at least.

Folks responded with reasons why, and you basically used the “it’s a free country!” defense, which could just as easily be applied to people using the emoji on you…
I'm not necessarily blaming members for using the emoji (unless they're spamming posts). It was made available to them for use, that's where it starts. It's like crapping on Meyers for the lateral when the original play-call came from the coaching staff on the sideline.

Not sure what you're getting at exactly with the "free country" bit but I said one or two members don't speak for the entire forum. I don't think anyone is in a position to claim everyone thinks one way or another. We all pay attention to how our opinions are being received. I pretty much know how a lot of different members will reply to my posts, positively or negatively, and it's never all one or the other. I'm sure most have a similar experience. I just take a lot of **** from the IBWTers because I think more of Brady and less of Belichick than perhaps most. But I'm hardly alone on that side of things. And I've never said it was all Brady, which is erroneously claimed over and over... already been discussed and refuted.

My .02.

Ian and Ross are great mods. Not ass kissing but it’s the truth. Trying not to be ungrateful for the time put in by some other mods over the years, but most of them were deficient as mods because they were biased in some way. Ian and Ross are not biased and both have found a good happy medium by being laid back but also having limits

I like crawhammer’s posts because they’re usually well reasoned and supported by facts. Most of the time the repetition is because of stubbornness from others to simply concede a point. But yes there are some threads where making it all about TB12 isn’t really the point of the thread.

But I think you can’t really police CH when you have a guy on here who is literally an admitted troll, changing his screen name every few years, posting with dishonest intentions, etc. You have to get rid of that guy before dealing with a much milder issue. One guy at least believes what he’s typing and the other is an ass clown. It comes across loud and clear.

Personally I don’t even think Showtime Idiot should be banned or policed, but my point is he should come first if such measures are going to be enacted. Otherwise it’s kind of laughable to target someone else.

The forum used to be a lot more colorful with different personalities. Illegal Contact (though he needed to be banned), Dropkick Flutie, Deus Irae, were all lightning rods of ire but they made it more interesting. And I think all of them were at least genuine even if you didn’t like their style. The board has become a lot more vanilla with everyone sounding the same, but it’s still a great place overall.

As much as I appreciate your (mostly reasonable) contributions to this site it bears mention that these observations aren't entirely objective, via carryover from the TB12 forum. @Ian 's concerns re. the crapspammer's ubiquitous and oft obtrusive obsessive-compulsiveness are very well founded.

@Ian also gave you an Ignore feature so try using it instead of incessantly following me around the forum and reacting to literally every single one of my posts. Same with your clone @Joker.

And talking about rules, the main one, #1 Avoid Insults in Making Your Point, you and the Clown disregard this rule regularly. Trying to be droll or mockish is one thing but you and your counterpart need serious lessons on civility. Tough guys on a message board who wouldn't have any teeth left with the same conduct in real life.

Cry me a river you poor, poor, put-upon child. Your own worst enemy is that incessantly negative OCD guy in the mirror -- not me, @Joker , @Ian or anyone else here. The ignore function fails in your case because you habitually hijack threads steering them off course and THAT is why you're in such a pickle. Fingers crossed it eventually will dawn on you that reigning in one's personal obsessions/bloated self-importance is an ESSENTIAL act of civility everywhere. Hell, you even kinda sorta copped to transgressing rule No. 8 before brushing it off but would be well served to take your own hint.

In these respects you're the last one to lecture on message board conduct so thanks for the laugh re. keeping one's teeth.

Not to pile on but it isn't really as simple as an ignore feature. People engage in the Brady BB debate too. That's not to say that that means it's a good engagement. You can't have a thread about BBQ that always devolves into veganism and say "just ignore me" when it messes with the entire flow of the thread.

It will be interesting how the new ignore feature works out though

I don't have a problem with @Ian, I may not like or agree with some of the MB features, but he's obviously a gracious host and seemingly a great guy, the first person I would welcome tailgating with.

Honestly I don't have a real problem with most members, even some that seemingly disagree with most anything I say, because that's not a reason to dislike someone and I enjoy the reasoned interactions (which is what I usually get).

Even half the time you're not a complete douchebag, the Clown's a different story. But whatever, you attack it however you choose, and to whatever degree @Ian permits (which is a lengthy leash), but I'm just gonna genuinely go about my business. None of us are perfect, so I suppose we all could contribute more constructively, which individually we can take responsibility for, and @Ian will take care of the rest.
