So, which result from the Balt-Det MNF game do you think it helps the Patriots more for next week's game (from a psychological perspective anyway - only injuries [that we wont wish for] will really make a difference), ...

would you rather face a team that is:

A - truly desperate being on the outside looking in at one down from Miami in the WC 6 spot (Loses MNF);
or
B - one that essentially could give up a game and still be in the hunt (Wins MNF)?

Balt still has Cincy in last week.
Miami still has Buffy and Jesters to play (substantially easier than Pats-Cincy).

Personally I think although I would have rather seen Baltimore in the WC to beat up on the AFCW guys; at this point I have to root for Detroit to crush Baltimore's spirit and make them really desperate.

I think we should realize now that its a week to week league. psychology etc is good discussion but doesnt really matter next week. Look at the bengals today. They had everything riding vs an eliminated team and they crapped the bed. Look at the eagles today or the Saints. So baltimore win/loss has no bearing next week IMO. But baltimore loss puts us in the playoffs so them losing tomorrow is the only choice.

If a Baltimore win meant I get to live another year, I'd still want Baltimore to lose.

nothing will help..will still play pats tough

Baltimore not in the playoffs is good for us. So obviously we want them to lose.

If Baltimore runs the table,
And if Miami runs the table,
And NE gets swept the next two games....

Miami wins division (Best Division Record tie breaker),
Baltimore earns 6th seed knocking NE out (Head to Head tie breaker)

I'm rooting for Detroit...seems logical

If Baltimore loses tonight, the Pats clinch a playoff spot. So, yeah, we want Baltimore to lose. It doesn't knock them out, but it puts us in.

No-brainer.

Detroit. It assures Pats playoff spot

I want Baltimore to win.

Not worried about Patriots clinching a spot. They can do that last week against the Bills, and if they can't beat the Bills, what's the point of the playoffs?

I want Baltimore to win because the Patriots need the bye, and Baltimore plays the Bengals last game of the year. I want the Ravens alive and clawing and scratching for that victory. I don't want to see them counted out prior to playing Cincy.

Although, it may not matter if the Patriots beat the Ravens. In that case, the Patriots beat the Bills and seal the bye.

I despise the Ratbirds & everything about them & their fanbase.
I root for them to lose every week, and tonight is no different.

Let's see' the Lions are singlehanded lay going to cost me the season championship and about $1,500 in my work pool because I get them wrong every week. So I am picking Baltimore.

Hopefully the Lions at least soften them up a bit. Too bad Ugly Mug Suggs doesn't play offense so Suh can take a few cheap shots at him.

the ravens haven't won an away game for 2 months...this one won't matter

the problem is that the pats have to play there.....but even then, matt cassel almost pulled a game out there

Personally, I care more about this being a very physical game where the Ravens are beaten up a bit to prepare for the Pats on a short week. Not hoping for any injuries. Just tough physical play.

If a Baltimore win meant I get to live another year, I'd still want Baltimore to lose.

LOL, tell us how you really feel!! I hate Baltimore too! Go Lions!!

Hopefully the Lions at least soften them up a bit. Too bad Ugly Mug Suggs doesn't play offense so Suh can take a few cheap shots at him.

I'd settle for QB retaliation by both...

Hope that Balt implodes and loses all their remaining games !!!

i want a lions win, i want to see a little Y next to the patriots name on teh standings.

I dont want to miss out on the playoffs due to tiebreakers.

Unfortunately the lions are equally good at imploding themselves so this could be a tough night .

It's a win-win.

If the Ravens lose, the Patriots clinch a playoff spot - yay!

If the Ravens win, the Jets are eliminated and will officially run their ignominious streak to three years without making the playoffs - yay!
