No replacing milt of course. But where he was most impactful was against the run. Durden, Gregory ,Tonga along with farmer, Ponder will all take on bigger rolls.. of course Barmore as well.

He was also great at pressuring QB's from the interior, though. Not a sack generator, but would push things back as well, no? I have faith in the run defense holding up, honestly.

That being said, as far as pressure rate goes, I don't know how much of that is due to having a sticky secondary.

I expect they will shut him down at least until the bye week, to make sure he’s available for the rest of the season, and especially the post season. Vrabes has been playing his hand perfectly all year. I see no reason to expect that to change with this.

They should just IR him. They have plenty of DFR to use. IR him, put a guy on the 53 that's needed (like a RB). and bring him back after his 4 games.

I think this is a blessing I. Disguise as it will challenge Zak kuhr game plan and blitzing strategies and there is a possibility that we will be severely battle tested in the next 4 games.

More likely than not we might lose 2 games in next 4, but will help us to forge the metal better and get our backups and depth much needed game time and practice .

Who knows we might unlock some skilled players who can become a beats during playoffs .

Lose the battle ( regular season ) and win the bigger battles ( post season).

Bengals defense is a joke , so it should just be a fight among two offenses .

Giants we should be okay purely from a coaching and talent perspective .

Ravens and bills will be a tough matchup but let's hope the backups become battle hardened over next 3 weeks.

We also get to see how swinson is. He should definitely have a chip on his shoulder being only rookie who was released .

Actually NOT terrible news. A high ankle sprain requires time to heal. It's 4 games and Williams will be back on the field for the stretch run and play-offs.

Swinson has not had a game day elevation to this point.

Considering that the Current 5 guys (Landry, Chaisson, Ponder, Jennings, and Murphy) have been getting SOME pressure, but not a lot, they now have a bunch of guys for the edge. Hopefully, something will click... and help improve the pass rush..

I hear where you are coming from , but I see it as an opportunity to test out our depth against competition which is not that great.

If we lose Williams for the playoffs that's bad. Consider that we have had huge injury luck so far, let's thank our stars it happened at a time when we could be minimally impacted by it.

I understand we might lose HFA , but in the next 4 games , if we happen to find our identity on rush and pass offense as kuhr is forced to adapt in absence of Williams interior rush. that would be a huge win . Who knows it might unlock a facet of barmore and Tonga that we have not seen before.

We never expected Tonga to break out like what he did last few weeks not did we expect chaisson to have the season he is having.

Short term IR with designation to return.. fortunately in this situation the DL is deep.. Barmore, farmer, Tonga, Gregory, Durden, Ponder... Ponder has come on as of late wich is good, Durden has also been very good. Guys will step up.

The depth has been terrific. Terrific depth. Williams has been top shelf. Fortunately he returns for the playoffs.

I'm optimistic that the guys you mentioned will fill in admirably, but there will be a drop-off.
I'm very curious/hopeful to see what Swinson can bring.
Our outside rush has been pretty bad for multiple weeks and he was one of the best players in college applying pressure last year.
Very hopeful he can bring some juice.

He showed little in preseason, but maybe that was the thinking, and he's ready.

He’s on IR, meaning he’s out for the Bills AND Ravens.

This sucks and there is no bright side, only hope is a high ankle will be at least close to 100% by January.
