It's concerning that this early they are ruling him out until after xmas.

I am wondering if ultimately it’s possible he could be ready like a week before then, but you obviously don’t want to hold off on a roster spot when you’re unsure on availability.

He’s on IR, meaning he’s out for the Bills AND Ravens.

This sucks and there is no bright side, only hope is a high ankle will be at least close to 100% by January.

There’s the part where he’s not out for the season. I’d say that much is a positive.

I hear where you are coming from , but I see it as an opportunity to test out our depth against competition which is not that great.

If we lose Williams for the playoffs that's bad. Consider that we have had huge injury luck so far, let's thank our stars it happened at a time when we could be minimally impacted by it.

I understand we might lose HFA , but in the next 4 games , if we happen to find our identity on rush and pass offense as kuhr is forced to adapt in absence of Williams interior rush. that would be a huge win . Who knows it might unlock a facet of barmore and Tonga that we have not seen before.

We never expected Tonga to break out like what he did last few weeks not did we expect chaisson to have the season he is having.

Let's be optimistic and hoper durden, gregory and swinson start to flourish too.

If we beat Cincy, both New York teams and Miami. That’s 13-4. Very decent chance that could be enough for the 1 seed.

Just take care of business in the games we’re supposed to win.

It's six weeks, not four.

He's a big guy so it's good they're being cautious.

Maybe it’s the point you’re trying to make, but he only has to miss 4 games. Including bye I think that makes him eligible for first time December 28 vs jets. So 6 weeks from now.

Gregory also made a big play in the game. Vrabel and Cowden have been amassing quite the collection of athletic DTs with upside.

I didn't mention Gregory because he's more of a TongaParty substitute; but I am glad that he was finally given the chance to show why he was claimed in the first place... Durden & Farmer will be the ones taking most of Williams' snaps I would imagine because they're much closer to his body type & play style...

This is going to put more pressure on the offense to score points. Missing your best player on defense for an extended period of time is going to be difficult.

Clearly they don't think he will be.
High ankle sprains are typically 6 week injuries.

Well shut him down till he is 100% if he misses the rest of the regular season so be it. I don't really care if he isn't back for Miami or Jets.

All you can do is try to make the best of it. This gives Swinson a chance. Hope he makes the best of it. He is the only big name rookie we drafted who hasn't done anything this year. Let's see if he can get it going a little before the end of the year.

Imagine if Ponder continues his improvement and Swinson can get some snaps and maybe start to get his feet under him before the end of the year.

Shut up. You are not the doctor. You didn't see the x-rays or swelling. You are frikin fan who has no business saying what the team shouldn't do with an injury. They are protecting a $100 million investment and felt this was best for the player and team.

Not really, imo. It forces them to be disciplined about not bringing him back prematurely, and opens a roster slot. I think the roster slot is a big deal right now.

It seems they might have chosen to put Boutte or Stevenson on IR if they had known how long they’d be out, to help with roster management. Stevenson has already missed three games. Although he’s practiced he might not be back for next game, and with the success Henderson is having they might not rush him back for Cincinnati. Boutte has already missed two games and hasn’t even started practicing so he may be out for another couple of weeks. Putting either of them on IR could have made roster management easier. And now Jennings has gotten hurt and missed one game (active but did not play against Jets) so they’ve got several roster slots tied up with players who are unavailable due to injury.

1st real bad news of the year, he's been a beast this year and do think this will hurt. Fortunately the youngsters have some games under their belt now but huge shoes to fill. Hope the offense continues to perform.
