1st real bad news of the year, he's been a beast this year and do think this will hurt. Fortunately the youngsters have some games under their belt now but huge shoes to fill. Hope the offense continues to perform.

Seems was nothing serious and now this...
A bad news
Short term IR with designation to return.. fortunately in this situation the DL is deep.. Barmore, farmer, Tonga, Gregory, Durden, Ponder... Ponder has come on as of late wich is good, Durden has also been very good. Guys will step up.

Perfect time to get injured (no their is no perfect time) while were playing very good and allows backups to show they deserve to be on the team while we are winning (that matters). Bringing backups into the starting fold and showing them what it takes to be a starter by example is not a bad thing. This is the time to do that. This is team building with winning....not losing.

Missing the Bengals game is unfortunate and I really don’t care about him missing the Giants game. But missing him for the second Bills game and of course the Ravens game is a huge blow. Margin for error for each of those games just shrunk.

It’s almost worth just shutting him down until the playoffs because what’s the point in pushing him against the Jets and Dolphins to end the regular season?

The goal now is 1 seed. And that might take as many as 14 wins depending on tie breakers so we *must* win no fewer than 2 of Bengals/Bills/Ravens.

Well we all know Farmer don't stop until the whistle blows, so there's gonna be a fierce effort there. Both he and Didrden managed well, but we saw the interior pressure take a step back, which was to be expected.

Kuhr has a other challenge here, and I'm sure Vrabel is in his ear helping him out, but this is an opportunity for coaching to really shine and adapt to the loss.

this bit is flying under the radar… I am very excited to see what he does, they need edge help
I strongly agree while being cautious about expecting too much from a rookie.

More rushing yards we will give up.. Hopefully the offense can score 30+ per game down the stretch with Hopefully Boutte returns.

No replacing milt of course. But where he was most impactful was against the run. Durden, Gregory ,Tonga along with farmer, Ponder will all take on bigger rolls.. of course Barmore as well.

From Grok:

Bradyn Swinson, the LSU edge rusher, was selected by the New England Patriots in the 5th round (146th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. This came as a shock to many analysts, as pre-draft mocks frequently projected him as a Day 2 talent (Rounds 2-3) based on his explosive 2024 breakout season. Swinson led LSU with 8.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 16 quarterback hits, earning Second-Team All-SEC honors and ranking among the nation's top pass-rushers in pressure rate (19%) and win rate (over 20%). His slide to Day 3 represents a classic case of "late-bloomer risk" outweighing raw talent in NFL evaluation. Below, I'll break down the key reasons for his fall, drawn from scouting reports, combine feedback, and post-draft analysis.

1. Swinson was a late bloomer, spending his first three college seasons (2021-2023) at Oregon as a rotational player with modest production: just 5.5 sacks and 9.5 TFLs across 32 games, including only one start.

  • After transferring to LSU in 2023, he remained a backup (1 start, 2 sacks) before exploding in 2024 as a fifth-year senior. Teams worried his SEC dominance (against elite competition like Ole Miss and Texas A&M) might be an outlier rather than sustainable growth, especially given his three-star high school recruiting status.

  • Impact on Draft Stock: Scouts valued multi-year consistency for edge rushers. As one report noted, "Swinson’s 2024 campaign was preceded by four years with a fraction of the production, which led teams to wonder whether his final season was a fluke."

IDK if Barmore will take on a bigger role...he's a starter for multiple years but I do think Tonga might see more snaps (but not much as he is mostly in the NT role). 1-2 out of Durden, Farmer, Ponder and Gregory will deffo get more snaps and should be inclined to do as much as possible with those snaps.

Natti cant really run the ball and Jamenson Winston is starting for NYG tomorrow.

Pats should be good for a couple of weeks until Buffalo. Cooks is 80 yards short of 1000 and you already know about Josh Allen.

Agreed. Our depth and strongest part of the defense is the defensive line. I saw increased pass rush from the defensive line when milt left the game. Ponder is coming on.. Farmer has been solid all season.. I think he missed the Jets game he was dealing with something.. but yes Tonga who's a beast as well.. Gregory and Durden as well.. I welcome it.. increased roles and opportunities for guys to make a name for themselves. Barmore has been a force all season and he was disruptive as usual.

Giants game will be tougher than people here think. Hope he is back 100% for the Bills game.
