Normally, I wouldn’t. However, for a player of Parsons’ caliber/age along with Maye being on his rookie deal, I may make an exception this time. Certain players can make pulling the trigger a bit more palatable (I.E Parsons, Jefferson, Chase, Hutchinson etc..). Elite difference makers with the right mix of talent, production & age. Just my opinion.Fair point, but if you use that trade compensation as the bar, would you give that up plus $40+ million a year to acquire Parsons?
I like White and would hate to give him up, but he's not Parsons. That said even with White, the trade comp would be at least one first rounder plus more picks. That I would not do.Every team in the NFL is having the conversation.
How can we afford him?
Can we give up that kind of trade comp.
Are we willing to trade White to Get Parsons?
Jerry has drafted actual NFL WRs and it did not take 20 years.I think you're giving Jerry too much credit. The Walker trade was 35 years ago and Jimmy Johnson probably had the biggest hand in that.
We all have opinions, and I respect that. If we all agreed it would be a pretty boring forum. Again, I love the player, I like his youth, but the cost is too much imo. If you look at some of the biggest trades (with picks) in NFL history, the team that gives up the bounty of picks almost always gets the very short end of the stick.Normally, I wouldn’t. Jerry has drafted some good players for sure. I was more referring to Jerry fleecing someone in a trade. Parsons would garner a lot because he's Parsons, not because Jerry is some master negotiator, that's all I meant.Jerry has drafted actual NFL WRs and it did not take 20 years.
Parsons cost a 1st and just dont see getting Parsons on the cheap with his numbers.
Yeah I am all over this one. Offense will be much better than people think, D has a chance to be special. Williams, Barmore, Parsons, White, Landry up front?
ROFL
The team that trades away the future and then signs Parsons to a record contract wont be a good team.I'm confused you seem to be suggesting that Dallas is a good team.
This situation is rare.Jerry has drafted some good players for sure. I was more referring to Jerry fleecing someone in a trade. Parsons would garner a lot because he's Parsons, not because Jerry is some master negotiator, that's all I meant.
I mean given the price of a new contract and the draft picks we have to give Dallas my initial thought would be it's not our problem to also send them back a replacement DE/Edge.Every team in the NFL is having the conversation.

yeah hes not going to be doing what the other dallas basketball owner did with lukaMoving up for Parsons in 2021 instead of Mac Jones was the right move in that draft - yeah that ship has long gone but surprised BB didn't go that route knowing what he could have done with him. Still would love to get him somehow.
I doubt Jerruh lets him get away.
