As stated I will be providing two or three picks each week and the writeups/screenshots, just not the full slate as I have in the past. The site has MLB, NBA, NCAAM's basketball and UFL. I was hoping to get college football in place for this season, but I had an eventful summer in many unfortunate ways, but also some fair winds in the career side of the house so not all was or is bad, but busy nonetheless. I may get to the NCAA football before the season is over but no guarantees.
Either way football is back baby and her is week 1's picks easier to use screenshots so no grumblings!
Shamlocks Pick of the week!
And before ye go any further, a word of warning from a man who has none left to give. Every number I'm about to quote ye is from last season. Different rosters, different lads under centre, different everything. It's Week One. All I've got is last year's ghosts rattlin' round the place, and I'm readin' them like tea leaves at the bottom of a cup.
Right. So. Last year the Steelers ran it at five point four a carry, second in the whole league over their last four, and last year Atlanta let up four point nine on the ground. If those two things are still true of these two football teams, that's yer game right there.
And here's the bit that has me on the drink. Eighteen percent in the red zone. Dead last. Worst in the league. Which is a lovely way of sayin' they'd walk it eighty yards up the field and then kick a field goal like a crowd of cowards. If that carried over, this stays inside the number and I'll be back Monday explainin' meself to the lot of ye.
Three and a half points, and the model has it winnin' by three and a half and a whisker. A whisker! The whole thing balancin' on a rounded-up number and a decade of the rosary.
Ask me again in a month when the numbers mean somethin'.
