McDaniels Staying Pat, according to Sports radio 680 Atlanta.

I think McDaniels is smart. He realizes that most people get one, maybe two shots to coach in the NFL. He's biding his time knowing that he's still going to have a great offense at his disposal next year so his stock is very unlikely to fall. He can wait for the right opportunity. You'd think that the Falcons would be that opportunity, given their talent, a solid QB and Dimitroff/Pioli there as well.

Maybe McDaniels is leery of Pioli's ability as a talent evaluator. Maybe he feels that the shake up means another bad season and the pressure is on.

Meanwhile if he stays here he further ingratiates himself to the Krafts and as long as they keep making it to AFCCGs and SBs he'll always be a guy people are interested in.

I basically agree with fnord that you better make the 2nd chance count but I am surprised he would pass on Atlanta, as the front office is as familiar as they get and they have a franchise QB. The only thing that I can see as an obstacle is that if they miss the playoffs his first year then the FO could be fired and he would be red meat for the new FO

I can only imagine if he called that Edelman pass and it got snuffed out or stopped. He'd be crapped all over for being too cute. Instead it will stand as one of the greatest plays in Patriots history.

I was thinking this too. Imagine if JE was tackled for a loss, or if the pass was picked. People would be calling for a public hanging of JMcD

The amount of good news we have had as Pats fans over this weekend and continuing into this week is just too much. I just hope it keeps on going.

Falcons fans are claiming that Josh isn't completely out of the picture and think he can be talked into coaching team.
Saying he must be the guy since they passed on Rex and Bowles.
All I know I will feel better when the teams fill their spots and McDaniels is still here.

I'll be the first to admit that my plan is to celebrate our keeping him then question 50% of his playcalling next season.

Adam Gase has reportedly agreed to become the head coach of the 49ers.
Jack Del Rio is the new Raiders coach.
There filling up fast.
