Point is they couldn't have gotten rid of him because of his 2021 cap hit and the new players in the secondary.Maybe so. However, I don't think moving on from a guy who was "mostly fine", until he wasn't in the playoff game at least, would have been an egregious violation of "a year too early."
Overall I thought DMC was slow to react on a number of plays this year- especially ones in which he was in run support.
Coverage-wise he seemed ok.
You can say that about everyone.What McCourty brings on the field at this point is replaceable with better talent at lower the cost.
DMC was not a complete disaster. He might have worn down a little or perhaps was injured. IDK
Would I offer him 11m AAV again to return? Nope- not at 35yo
