Hahaha this team is gonna STINK unless they miraculously hit on an elite QB, this isn’t a plan or a new era this is just being sick of Bill and changing him and nothing else.

Same old overly complex offense that is too complicated for young WRs and out of date in the modern NFL, same crappy front office, same crappy coaches, woof.

when they moved on from Bill, I kind of thought we would have a total refresh. it is a tad concerning to me that basically they just want to run the same patriots system minus bill.

I guess they must believe the "patriot way" still works. just that Bill the GM failed at drafting/free agency. Guess we will see if the patriots methodology on building a roster at least on the offensive side of the ball changes. will they get aggressive in FA/Drafts to really tackle the offensive roster issues?

or will they continue to treat it as an afterthought...

I want a regular, plain ole' coaching staff. In other words, I want a head coach, an offensive coordinator who calls the plays on offense (and we all know who that person is) and a defensive coordinator who calls the plays on defense (and we all know who that person is).

I mean seriously.... the secrecy these past few years was pretty ridiculous.

so, we just gonna be running the Bill Belichick patriots without Bill here??

not that I don't think McDaniels is a good OC. but just seems kinda odd we get rid of Bill but then gonna keep the same front office and bring back McDaniels to run the offense.

was it really just about replacing Bill the GM?
We should not minimize Bill's role over the past 24, and in the recent "transition".

I do indeed believe that we will better without Bill. And yes, the primary focus will be on improving personnel on Offense.

Personally, I believe that we should allow BOB to make changes in his assistants and position coaches. The, after his 2 year contract, the Offense (and his coaching) can be evaluated.

THE KRAFT'S ARE REPLACING
1) Bill the GM, including acquiring players and trades
2) Bill making personnel decisions overruling the Director Of Scouting and the Head Of Scouting.
3) Bill as the HC hiring coaches like Patricia and Judge
4) Bill the player evaluator
5) Bill the final decision-maker in all aspects of the game

HC Mayo
DC Belichick or Covington
OC Obrien or Josh
Personnel Groh
Scouting Wolf

The structure should is simple. However, there are decisions to be made.
=========
The key is that this is a Kraft's team. Their "way" is to primarily hire from within and build loyalty.

You hit the nail on the head, its about replacing GM Belichick, BB the coach is still a stud

That staff is poverty, Kraft loves someone who's cheap/being paid by someone else more than Bill.

Unproven HC, unproven DC (both completely unproven on their own side of the ball cause it's Bills defense, who knows if they can function without him)
Outdated OCs and offensive scheme who have both had bottom 5 offenses without Brady.

Personnel and scouting been here as the disastrous drafts happened.

Has anyone noticed Brady hasn't made a peep about Mayo becoming the new head coach of the Patriots? His silence tells you what he thinks about it.

I thought Josh might follow Bill, but if he’s open to coming to NE then he would be an excellent choice. He has head coach experience that might be useful for Mayo to lean on, is great with developing young QBs, and is just a better OC than O’Brien IMO. Plus, he isn’t gonna be getting a call to be a head coach again for a long time so you don’t need to worry about him getting poached after a year or two by another team.

I do hope that you're wrong. But I can't yet say that you will be wrong.

We could do research/

For me, this would be worst COACHING sfaff in the NFL.
At least the least experienced.

But it seems Bendover Bob is intent on trying to prove ownership is responsible for success and coaching doesn’t matter.

Anything positive he would say about Mayo people would twist into some slight against Bill.

If Josh comes back, I wonder if they attempt to keep Mac and fix him, even if only for a year while their rookie QB develops. Josh could get him back to his play level as a rookie and get his confidence up. The problem with Mac wasn’t understanding the game, it’s purely confidence and mental. Josh might be able to get him right? Kind of freaking myself out talking about it but I could see it. Or god forbid they… skip the QB entirely, pick up Mac’s 5th year option and go for MHJ…
