Nick Caley is also interviewing for the job.

Caley get interviewed too.

This better not be a sham process just so this f ucking slappy - whose position hasn't done a DAM THING in FOUR YEARS! - can Murphy's Law his way up the ladder on Billy's F & Fs plan, at the expense of the best interests of the T-E-A-M... And no Tom Pelissero, he is most certainly NOT a "valued young ass-istant" either.

Would be way worse if he goes to the Jets and the offense looks amazing.

With the same QBs they had this season? A metaphysical impossibility, which is why I hope he goes there.

...this makes no sense. Should've been done this past season. Unless he's one of the minority candidates for being black irish.

As someone who identifies as Black Irish (brown eyes & black hair), I declare that he is not affiliated with us... Slappies need not apply.

Because they chose the path of continuity rather than upheaval.

Coordinator by committee has been a very successful approach for them for many years.

I don’t think that something working many times over suddenly becomes insane the first time it doesn’t.

There also really weren’t many candidates at the time that were anything to get excited about.

Surely you can't be serious... about ANY of these "thoughts"

Apparently Bill didn't want to risk losing him this season, thus having Mac deal w/ 3 different OCs in 3 years.
I've heard that argument before, and it makes no sense. A Caley promotion to OC would have been accompanied by a multi-year contract, locking him in place unless he got a HC opportunity. That still applies to the current situation.

FYI - Alabama fans are rooting for O'Brien to take a hike as their offense has dropped off in points since he's been there. Him coming back would be such a lazy hire by Bill. During his two years and one year named OC in NE, he had Tom Brady in God mode with a really good O-line, Gronk, AH, Welker, Branch coming back and competent-not great RB's.

If you are expecting him to duplicate this coming back...then you are in for a rude awakening.

Dude...listen to me now and hear me later....Caley is a bad idea. He doesn't have the cajones with Bill around and has ZERO proof of doing anything worthy of being an OC for fck sake. We need BOB or someone that can say "no" when needed. Someone that had experience designing offensive plays across the board. IMO Caley would be a horrendous OC at this point in his career...similar to O'Shea 5 years ago. Chad wouldn't be a terrible OC at this point with his OC experience with other teams but he would be far from my 1st choice.

I'd be up for Klemm as OL/run game coord.
and Caley and/or McCardel as OC/pass game coord.

If Caley & McCardel are side by side, you'd think Caley makes a lot more sense because of the duration of being in the system.
But a OL specific guy like Klemm would be a great addition as well IMO.

I'm moving further away from BOB - too ingrained and arrogant.

No to BOB and Kliff.
O'Shea makes a lot of sense, and I'm surprised he's not on any media updates for interviews.
I mentioned Mike early on, but have doubts.
Why not try Darrell Bevell or Mike McCoy?

I think those 2 aren't bad choices...they were not on my radar. What's important to me is experience and being able to back that up when talking to Bill...it's why I have BOB and Kliff high on my list. Kubiak is too long in the tooth and not relatable to younger players IMO. Adding your 2...

I’ve been saying this, they don’t want BOB back.

Friends and family plan, lmao. That made me laugh out loud…..and it’s true.

Who knows who would be the best choice? I like the idea of bringing in someone from the outside with an entirely new perspective from a different system.

For this reason, McCardell, Klemm or LeFleur seem to fit the bill.

I have concerns about bringing BoB back.

Leftwich would be an interesting guy to interview. His arrow was pointing up before this year.
