It's easy, and only takes a few moments. Most of the offensive skill positions have only been here a brief time as well. Mac, Bourne, Henry and Jonnu and Rhamondre all only have 1 year in the "true" McDaniels system. Zappe, Parker, Thornton, K.Harris, Strong Jr all have no experience in it. Shouldn't really be that hard to change systems, it's not like that system is deeply ingrained in the QBs, WRs and RBs. Meyers has more years, but he's more than likely going to be playing elsewhere in '23.It also keeps Patricia in the mix as an advisor working behind the scenes.
That's why I'm against BoB or anyone that's a FOB. Bring in a coach with new creative offensive schemes and scrap the playbook that was built around Brady. We don't have Brady anymore. Time to move on.
You have to wonder if Jonnu Smith is an enigma because he struggled under a proven OC Josh McDaniels. I know we can't move on this upcoming season but in 2024 we definitely will. Most of the offensive skill positions have only been here a brief time as well. So your argument is that the most successful coach in NFL history is afraid to conduct interviews and this is because he wouldn’t want to hire the candidates. Jesus.I agree. There most likely will not be a formal DC position. Pats would need to follow the Rooney Rule, interview Steve, Mayo and two of the dozen minority coaches on the defensive side of the ball that are better than Steve. He wouldn't stand a chance, and it would be viewed as further confirmation of nepotism run amok. Steve remains play caller w/o the DC title imo.
Right we had a EP offense for 20 years where we also had the same QB during that time. It was tweaked constantly for Brady. Since Brady left the team is .500 w/ 2 out of 3 seasons below avg offenses.Brady was the system here, but we have always ran the Erhardt Perkins offense...or some variation of it for 20+ years now. The advantages of that offense are taking what the D gives you, simple terminology, and using the same personnel in different formations. BoB runs a complicated version of it and managed to go above .500 with the Texans.
BTW, Adam Gase runs a variation of EP as well.....and in 2013 set the all time offensive scoring record.....

I also wouldn't call the terminology simple since many veteran and rookie receivers had difficulties with it. Word is terminology was simplified this season mainly for the coaches. Lol
2013? In Peyton Manning's record 55 TD year? Yea, ok.
Honestly if they hire Caley im going to lose my mind. So you're telling me that you searched the entire NFL and college coaching ranks and the best candidate was under your nose this entire time?
So we had the best OC candidate in the organization this entire time, but we rolled with a complete dumpster fire setup of Patricia/Judge all season instead? If he is so talented, why wasn't he considered for 2022? Did he learn so much under Patricia and Judge that he is now an ideal candidate
Anyways, rant over...
Something different...
Seems like a big demotion.Interesting move (wiki)..
- The Steelers promoted Klemm to offensive line coach on February 2, 2021.
- On December 27, 2021 Klemm left the Steelers with 2 games remaining in the regular season to become an offensive line coach at Oregon.
In the Caley picture, is that Patricia behind him eating a snack? LMAO
I thought it was a Mr. Goodbar wrapper. LmaoIt's probably a flag or some kind of towel, but the idea of Patricia standing there going to town on a taco on the sideline is too funny, so I choose to believe that is what it is.
If they hire O'Brien, it'll be because they wanted him the whole time, and he wasn't available until this year. It's truly hard to get past the thought- "why did we not do this last year?" when it comes to interviewing coaches/hiring an actual staff. 2022-23 season feels like a bad dream.
It certainly feels like the days of Bill surrounding himself with yes men and acting in 100% autonomy are over. This feels more like the Krafts are driving the bus, unless it's all a smoke show because it's been BoB the whole time, to @Ross12 point. It's truly hard to get past the thought- "why did we not do this last year?" when it comes to interviewing coaches/hiring an actual staff. 2022-23 season feels like a bad dream.

But Mannings caddy doesn’t really deserve much credit. Especially when he flat out blew everywhere else he has ever been where he really coordinated an offense.Still...55 TD's coming off a neck surgery....
They scored more points than the 2007 Patriots....no small feat.....
