Martellus Bennett in a Patriots Uniform

I am very excited to see how good Bennett is. I am not worried about him getting the offense. This offense is a lot easier to get for TEs and RBs than WRs. Also Bennett does not need 90 catches to be considered a success. 50 is fine and he will likely get that falling out of bed.
There was a press conference a couple of years ago where BB said that it was harder for TEs than it was for WRs.

BB has said TE is the second hardest position after QB.

No doubt about that. Nobody besides QB has to know as much as a true TE. Theyre olinemen in runna nd passing game, as well as receivers. People make fun of Gronk-but he knows more about that offense than anyone on the field except Brady. hes not just aphysical freak. hes an extremely intelligent football player. Id put JE11 in there with tb and gronk-because i think as a former qb, and a football junkie, he probably knows everyone else's job as well.

Bennett is a legitimate top 6 TE in the league. Chandler was just a Patriot Killer with very little else to show on his resume. Given how well Welker worked out its easy to see why some drank the kool aid ..self included.

Nobody should ever confuse Bennett to Chandler.. worlds apart.

I'd pump the brakes on that - we said the same thing about Gronkowski and Chandler, Gronkowski and that injured guy from the Giants who never played, Ben Watson and Daniel Graham, and Ben Coates and Marv Cook.....
You leave Ben Watson outta this!!

I'm incredibly bullish about the addition of Bennett mainly because we now have two Tight Ends who are excellent blockers and who can both run the full route tree. Let's not forget the tremendous help their blocking will be to the tackles against teams with an excellent edge rush.

Exactly.

Martellus Bennet is a lot better than Scott Chandler, Ben Watson and Daniel Graham.

Dynamic Duo, multiple combo scenarios for Mac & TB. I thought Chandler would have worked out better but what Bennett has accomplished I see no reason for a decline in play and now he has TB.

Glad that Bennett was signed rather than another JAG Patriot Killer. Hey, isn't Owen Daniels a free agent?:p

What exactly was wrong with Ben Coates on the goaline?
Ben Coates is one of the most underrated players in NFL history.

Ben Coates is #3 all time in Patriots history in touchdowns behind only Stanley Morgan and Rob Gronkowski.

I believe that he's talking about specific pairings, and the hype that surrounds these TE pairings. I'm assuming that's why he listed a bunch of TE examples for individual years.

Ben Coates by himself was an awesome TE. I don't think anyone would really question that.
With Bennett, we have our greatest chance of a productive 2 TE tandem since AHern/Gronk. No doubt about it. Feeling excited about their potential!

I like this pix better..
