I watched Marcus Jones quite a bit yesterday and other than his fantastic pickup of the strip by Dugger at the goalline, he was all over the Bengals' slot receivers. The announcers mentioned him several times. But he also made a few unbelievably athletic plays that the announcers DIDN'T mention and that the booth never replayed. One was a diving PBU on an out to Iosivas on the left boundary. Somehow Jones got there even though the ball was thrown perfectly to Iosivas's outside shoulder.

If he can be an amazing slot corner coupled with his All-Pro return skills, and maybe even some gadget plays on offense, we may find that Jones is one of only a handful of standouts on this team.

An integral player.

Some people had him as the #4 or #5 CB going into the season.

He may play more like the #2.

Jones made a submarine tackle on one of their TE's yesterday to kill a drive, great tackle for a little guy. He was also smothering in coverage. If there was any weakness in his game as a slot CB, it seems to be gone. Keep that guy healthy.

Beyond that the defensive backs and CB's were outstanding yesterday, there were a couple lapses in zone coverage but you expect that with a great QB to WR combination like Burrows/Chase.

Ive always thought he looked great wherever we put him ( even wr), only concern is his durability

He reminds me a bit of Bob Sanders in that way. VERY different type of player, and Sanders was better overall, but the kind of guy that can really shift how you play defense when he's out there. Big question being how much CAN you get him out there before he gets dinged up again.

Yeah he does so much Good just being in there let's just hope his little body holds up.

1,2 or 3; it matters not. He is a starter.

He played well and looked like he had some of the energy we liked in his rookie year. Promising start for him.

The entire secondary is going to get tested against Seattle. With Metcalf, Lockett, and Smith-Njigba. Peppers, Hawkins, and Dugger are going to have to be on their game as well

Saw that too that's key for a CB Text book Tackling let's hope Marcus stays healthy. The Sea Hawks will give us a real test this week with their Trio of WR's really hope can pressure Geno Smith.

As long as the offense is competent the defense will carry their side of the couch.

The D is great assuming they stay healthy, could be even better if Barmore can come back.

While I agree, the Offense rising to the level of competence is a real reach.

Not necessarily.

Multiple ways.

Most likely just run Dre right into relevancy just give him 250+ carries and if he runs like Sunday we'll be relevant.

Second most likely is at some point we pass the baton onto Maye and he is an immediate success.

Third it's not asking too much to expect a little more out Jacoby not likely to suddenly become a 300 yard passer but can he consistently get closer to 200 doesn't seem like a big ask. (Still need Dre here and the D)

How was he in coverage? I know the fumble recovery, but that much I already knew about him. He is, and always will be, great with the ball in his hands ... and great job locating the ball and snatching it.
