Yeah I don't care about the interception poll...but that's sh!tty

About par for the course with clodhopper, our resident flatland hillbilly.

rEAl pATs fANs upon seeing the poll.

The Genie is out of the bottle now.

People now know that Zappe can play at an NFL level. The Pats players know that Zappe can win. Competent QB play effects the whole team and makes everyone's job easier. Execution has a way of doing that. Jones had no worries until he had to sit out and even then did anyone really believe that Hoyer was going save this season? C'mon Man! Jones could play all season and lose and his job was secure so long as he was healthy.

Moreover, some 3rd string, back practice field, short 4th round pick QB out of West Kentucky was never going to replace a 1st round former Heisman mention, Cuban cigar smoking QB from the best college football program in the nation. Bailey Zappe had to pick his own tobacco and roll his own cigars.

It must be this way. Zappe must sit and wait, but this will make him respected in the eyes of the team. I tell you though that Zappe is in the catbird seat. The margin of error now for Jones has shrunk.

It's not just the subject that you fun posters chose it's the way you guys go about it. For example this thread had a title that had me thinking Mac must of got something for his o-line or maybe early holiday gifts or something nice and then bam nailed by negativity.

Oh dear. I have not been this maligned since I farted as a child singing a solo in the Zions' Evangelical Lutheran Church Choir. Have I fallen into a den of Catholics? Is the Inquisition on again?
Yeah he's not a troll...

No. But you can avoid excommunication by deleting this ill-advised thread.

I'm actually quite shocked people in Boston put up with Mac's personality. Out here in LA, they'd think it's cute, but I'm surprised he hasn't turned off people in Boston with his crying, dancing for no reason and dramatics getting carried in the tunnel.

This is wildly overstated, you're making him sound like an hysteric. He's a tough player and personable kid just as Zappe seems to be. He also is a team captain and has solid backing in the locker room.

What are your pronouns?

Your boy better toughen up and soon.
I just need to put this out there, and everyone - please take note.

He's not "your boy". He's "our" boy. Or at least until Bill Belichick decides otherwise.

That being said, openly rooting for Mac to fail each week while he's the starter is not recommended. This is different from the whole Brady/Belichick dynamic that has gone on in here, it's not close to the same thing.

It's OK to be a fan of Zappe, but if Jones is the starter, the least everyone can do is obviously wish him well since all of us are hoping for good things from the team. If Jones falters and Zappe ends up earning the role, then obviously everyone should be rooting for him to do well also.

I'd prefer it if we could sort of get back to being on the same team, which would be all of us just rooting for this football team. Doesn't feel like a big ask, but given how this year has gone so far, it certainly feels like it.

I'm not saying if Mac throws multiple picks and we lose, it's not cool to criticize. But from a big-picture standpoint, I'd appreciate it if some people could get on board with this ... which is a strange thing to need to ask ...?

Quick follow-up. This isn't a threat. This simply breaks down to the fact it's reaching a point where if that's going to be how it is every week that this kid is on the roster, what are we even doing? It can't work that way, at least not if any of us hope to survive the season with our sanities.

New puppet? What do you mean?
I post what I post, for good or ill, not what I imagine others want me to post. No offense taken or given: I am an old curmudgeon, and so it goes.

Jones is not my QB.

I have seen enough to realize his limitations. I would also like to see BB win a Super Bowl without Brady. This team is good, good enough to shock some teams in the post season if the Pats can get in.

EDIT - Nobody is hoping that Jones fails. If he fails it will be because of his play.

Obviously, but it certainly sounds like we're headed toward people openly rooting for him to do poorly so that Zappe can assume the role. It's just a bizarre dynamic that - honestly - I didn't see coming, but I guess add that to the crazy list of things that have happened in here in the last 20+ years.

It's just strange because I'm happy Zappe did well, but I'm rooting for Mac when he steps back under center, primarily due to the fact we've got some time invested in the kid and he had shown us some things prior to the offensive change and the mess they were at the beginning of the year.
Although don't get me wrong, if Zappe gets back in, obviously, I'll be rooting for him as well. Neither is "my" QB, I'm rooting for the team to do well regardless of who is under center. That's the goal every week is to see whoever is in there play well. As long as we avoid what's going on in Pittsburgh, I'm good with that.

Again, just an odd dynamic. I would think being indifferent watching games would be sort of a non-fun way to do it, but I'm fully aware that I'm a weirdo, so, I guess, there you go.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the explanation. I thought you might be a Russian bot here to sow discord and dissension.

Okay, this was good. I laughed out loud. Congratulations on landing one.
