Losman: "Wilfork got off easy."

I'm kind of surprised they would put this kind of inflammatory stuff up on the team's official web site. Maybe that's what happens when a team is struggling as badly as the Bills.

I was thinking the same thing T. It seems like this type of smear campaign is gonna go on oall year long, since we may roll this year, teams are gonna take their shots at us, on or off the field, when they can.

As a team, the Patriots focus is gonna be tested this year...however I must say so far so good...

Wilfork reportedly has tried to reach out to apologize to Losman, but Buffalo's quarterback doesn't see the purpose of it.
"I don't think there's an apology needed," said Losman. "I'm not looking for an apology. At this point the damage is done. An apology will do nothing at this point. I'm fortunate that it wasn't as serious as I thought initially. So the quicker I get back on the field, the quicker this won't be as much of an issue, but it could have been a serious injury that would have taken a long time to come back from."

This is too bad. I expected Losman to have more class than this. Clearly he'd rather think his negative thoughts of Wilfork rather than hear from Wilfork's own lips that this was unintentional. Apologies are meaningless? Only if prefer bitterness.

Welp, there goes my respect for the Bills. I was kinda rooting for them because of all the trouble they've had already this year, but not anymore.

What is happening to the NFL where the league is suddenly comprised of more whiners than a primary school?

Thank God the Pats never say crap like this. I would be so dissapointed and ashamed if they whined about; "He took a cheap shot at me."

Maybe I'm misremembering, but there was a lot of talk about a dirty hit from various Pats, including Rodney himself when Bobby Wade took him out in that Titans game last year.

In a January 07 Reiss piece he was still complaining about it: "Even if it was a legal hit, he intentionally went at my knees."

On the whole the Patriots are stoical about dirty plays, but they are not saints either on the giving or receiving end--they are also not stupid enough to give other teams bulletin board material like Losman is doing.

I know what "appropriate" punishment is! A suspension of Wilfork! And BB! And a forfeiture! And we should be barred from the playoffs, too! Or lose the other first round pick! Heck, we should be forced to dismantle the team completely!

F Losman. Wilfork did the Bills a favor, whatever his intention. Losman is a triple A Qb and is sitting in rightful place, the bench. Call the WAAAAHmbulance.

The bottom line in this arguement is, if it were Brady on the receiving end of such a play, you'd be mad as hell. IF it were a Colt player who did this to an opposing QB, I wouldn't like it a bit. Yeah, it's football, but it is a guys career we speak of. That said, Wilfork seems pretty genuine, and I don't know that he intentionally wanted to take Losman out, but it DID appear that with a little effort, he could have avoided the knee.

I guess you like to moralize about DL's split second decisions. I hope you bear the same scrutiny in your own life. Contemplate that. (Mod edited)

Why do you spend so much time here instead of on your own team's messageboard? Are Darth Polian and Martin Luther Dungy starting to get to you or something?

Jeezus Cripes, we're talking about J.P. F'n Losman here. Why the hell would any opponent intentionally want that P.O.S. out of the game??? You'd want him in there every down of every offensive play. He's the AFC's Rex Grossman for crying out loud.

The bottom line of this argument is that if it were Brady or Manning there would be an obvious advantage for the opposing team if they were out of the game. Losman is about as irrelevant as a starting QB can be. What is to be gained by intentionally knocking him out?

If it were Brady, yeah I'd be pissed. I have no problem admitting I'm hypocritical. If it were Manning, there's an obvious advantage if he's knocked out. It would definitely suck for the Colts. DL are coached to get to the QB, the usual errant hand or elbow might just be enough to knock a QB off-balance enough to make that pass attempt go incomplete. The fact that Vince's elbow caught Losman's knee in a vulnerable location and position was coincidental. Had he just tripped him up by hitting him an inch further to the right or left, up or down would we even be having the conversation? Sure it would have still been a late hit, but it would have just been considered his showing determination to get to the QB.

I wonder if Vince was on some visiting teams message boards that are calling for someone to take out Brady's knees? I know that the jests have a tool named Moga that wants both of Tommy's knees taken out and I believe I also saw a similiar thread on a Bills forum.

Karma?

Now they have their mods calling for Brady's knees. They made a mod out of
the biggest arse on the JI forum, Klecko73isGod, and he has called for taking
out Tommy's knees. Moga is a genius compared to this tool.

to quote the wise and scholorly Peter Griffen "(Losman) can kiss the fattest part of my ass".

according to this "article" Wilfork is indeed a dirty player, but only against one team in the league. odd. nice "he did it on purpose but I don't know if he did it on purpose so I won't say if he did it on purpose" routine

One big difference you ignore:

Wade was never fined or penalized by the league whatsoever.

If he was merely fined $12,000, would there have been any peep out of the Patriots? Who knows.

The fact that the League justified the hit by not giving out ANY penalty makes your analogy false.

Actually, considering Losman got to leave that game after one play, I'd say HE is the one who got off easy.

I think its ludicrous.
Wilfork was blocked into him. The only reason it was a penalty and there was a fine was because it was late, because Wilfork couldnt see whether he had relaeased the ball or not.
Of course as Wilfork was falling, he made sure he got a hit on the QB. Thats his job.
Its stupid to say is losing your QB worth 12,000? Players get hurt all of the time.

This is a story? We all knew that Losman was a dumb, whiny little biznatch before this. This is the guy who, a few weeks ago, referred to the Kevin Everett situation as "what people come out to see."

Haha, I can only imagine the frenzy this board would go into if that exact same play happened to Brady. What a bunch of delusional hypocrites here...I like to come and check out the boards for some comedic relief every once in awhile. I just had to post about this.

Everyone one of you crazy mf's would go nuts if somebody took a cheap shot at brady. There would be a meltdown around here. But as long as your players are making the cheap shots, everythings peachy. You people wonder why everyone else in the league hates your guts.

Your coach, your team, and you all are a joke...

Coincidentally enough, Peter King was just on the radio saying it wasn't a dirty play. You have a nice day, though.

You're right, if it was a cheap shot we would go nuts. However, this wasn't a cheap shot. It was an unfortunate play that tends to happen in football. Do you want them to start wearing flags out there?

And we're laughing at that joke all the way to three (soon to be four) SB rings......Get a life you tool!!!!

Please, Brady took the exact same shot during that last game of the season in 2003 (I think)...against Buffalo, coincidentally...and he got put out of the game. I sharted myself, but I didn't think the hit was dirty, it was just one of those hits.

Vince got tripped, period. If he didn't put his elbow out, then Losman would have had a 360+ pound lineman's shoulder obliterating his knee.
