And the Pats missed SB opportunities are going to come back to haunt us. Many of you feel that the Pats are going to go right on back to the SB....or will be right back on top of the AFC East
I respect that opinion...but I don't agree. I think we are at least 4-5 years away from another chance to get back to the big show....Other teams in AFC and league are catching up. Hopefully we can keep up and stay competitive...going to be a tougher road ahead next few years! Wish we hadn't blown our opps in the SB chances....and even 2006!....f'ing Colts!
I appreciate your post thunder...not trying to be doom and gloom.
more about being realistic!.....I think Bills got a little better with Williams.
..Houston looking good with schaub back and hanging onto Foster. Alot of rumors that Marshall was moved to make way for Manning, Wayne, and Clark to go to Miami. If so, fins become instant contender...don't u think? If not all 3 COULD rollinto Denver....once again that would improve that offense dramatically....I will have to see what other teams do in FA and draft in AFC b4 saying more ...
but the NFC is where I think most of the powerhouses are going to come from!..
Upon further review .......Consider the source.
Normally I advocate a drug free life but man you're seriously in need of some uppers. At the very least a serious bong hit.
I see the Patriots AS ALWAYS when they contended for SBs as not chasing the mediot darlings but building a lunchpail blue collar team around their franchise QB. If the Pats fail to address need at WR, safety, and other defensive positions in FA and the draft, then feel free to roll out your dire forecast and re-post, although even with no upgrades the Pats are playoff contenders.
NFC teams getting stronger won't prevent Pats from getting back to the SB.
Miami hasn't signed anyone that made them better and the Bills still have a QB who signed a big contract and disappeared after a good start.
Houston hasn't signed anyone to make them better as far as I know. Getting their QB back should help, but no guarantees.
Manning isn't guaranteed to get any team to the playoffs, let alone Denver. He hasn't thrown a pass in over a year, will have to adjust to a new offense/team and may be shaky worrying about his neck....
Patriots haven't lost any big name players...Welker is tagged.
BB will upgrade positions as he sees fit, and at a price that will keep the Patriots a contender for the future also.
Step back off the ledge...
Ha ha.
Thanks wicked pissah.
.that would just make me paranoid and even more annoying to many of you!...
but I'm having a few beers watching all these moves today to take the sting out! I just think that alot of teams are getting stronger and will make it tougher for us to get back to SB. Good to hear from u and thanks for post....maybe I'll pop some magic mushrooms!
It is official. Less than five hours into the new NFL year and the Pats have been eliminated from playoff contention. See you guys in 2013.
Miami's lost Marshall
The Jets have signed some scrub backup center
The Texans have lost Williams
The Chargers have lost Jackson
Other than the Bills, what AFC teams have improved?
from what i've seen the dolphins just got ass raped for their best reciever and the jets just signed a one legged QB to an extension....
Not sure how you came to that conclusion, he was an issue in Miami, they get two decent picks AND 10 Mill a year to sign someone in FA.from what i've seen the dolphins just got ass raped for their best reciever and the jets just signed a one legged QB to an extension....
The Texans didn't get stronger though. Foster was there last season. It's obviously a great re-signing but he's not new. They also will probably lose their best defensive player and yesterday cut their starting RT for cap purposes.
I understand your concerns but Houston has yet to add a single new player to their team. I think your worries are making you see the Pats as negative and everyone else as positive.
Fair enough..
Thanks for your opinion..hopefully we keep some of ours and add some good stuff thru FA and draft.
If Manning and Wayne don't sign in Miami, then the LOLphins will battle the Green Scum from New Jersey for last place in the AFC East. Not really. The Dolphins cleared $9.6 million in caps space and double their cap room to nearly $20 by letting one WR go. They can address a lot with that money. Marshall is good, but not worth the limits on the cap he represented. They got out from under a big contract without taking on any salary. Stay tuned.
First 3 hours of Free Agency warrants a trip out to the ledge I guess.

LOL - this train is never late
I don't mind threads like this because it's almost like a superstitious thing - there's one every year yet the Patriots have had 11 straight winning seasons, three championships, one undefeated season, and countless other great moments during that span.
If someone didn't say it, just imagine how the year might actually turn out
(on that note - it's just Day one...there are a lot of personnel moves left to be made )
