This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

They'll want a QB to throw to them and an offensive line to protect said QB (which we need both anyway).
We will have both.. this draft here even bb couldn't mess this draft up

I can't tell you how much that I absolutely and positively hope that you're right!

Not sure what you're talking about.

Needs:
QB1
WR1 (assume Parker/Douglas are WR2/3)
TE1
TE2
TE3
RB2 (Rham is RB1, the rest are not RB2)
RB-3rd down
LT
RT (Onwenu isn't a RT)
Swing T
FS (Winfield Jr please)
K

We're not filling all these holes via the draft. Kraft opening the check book is a must. He will. 100%

Happy to have Kraft open the checkbook but the problem is what’s for sale. I have more interest in Cam Newton than Kirk Cousins and I have ZERO interest in Mr Newton. I don’t believe Cincy will let Higgins loose nor do I believe the Colts will let Pittman become a FA. Odell and Mike Evans may be worth a “peek” but that’s gonna be one expensive peek.. Good Lord, I’ve seen enough of Parker who can’t be counted on to even play near a full season and while I do like Douglas, he weighs less than I do and 170 pound slot receivers are not exactly safe from being on an endangered list. Owenu has only played RT (or right guard) and along with our LT doesn’t sound like they want to remain Patriots and they are 2 of the 3 highest rated tackles. Rham may be #1 but also missed 5 games with injuries, and yes a receiving RB is needed. My point is that FA may not be able to provide the “goods” we need the most help (QB, OT, and WR).

At the moment he is. I'd prefer Higgins (but both of them might be tagged, which means if they don't sign extensions we might have to wait another season).
They could franchise him i suppose but there's no way they can keep him long term, you can't pay Burrow $55m a year and pay Chase and Higgins at the top of the market too unless you're wanting to commit to a budget OL and defense.

You would be spending about 40% of your cap on 3 players.

If he isn't tagged, the Patriots would have to convince him that they will have the QB and OL situation properly addressed for him to agree to come here, probably the same with Pittman Jr.

Here's what I'll say, the organization knew that it needed to change and adapt to the 2020s era. Mayo is a much different thinker, and will run things differently of course. Having a more modern set up like GM ( wolf) & coach in Mayo will allow a much more collaborative working experience. There may had been a collaborative effort during bills tenure, but he's so respected that there was likely no one to challenge him on roster decisions ect. So I feel good about Mayo and wolf's ability to her talent in here. I like that Mayo looked outside to bring in an OC.

Wow, with a glowing recommendation like that - how could you not want him?

I know these guys follow the money, but something tells me the kid born in Florida who played his whole career down south puts New England at the bottom of places he’d like play for.

Sorry I mean Kraft screwed it up..
As far as I know, Kraft is 0 for 1. But since he was picking a QB, it's forgivable. The big problem with him is he doesn't want to admit he made a bad pick. Belichick wanted to trade Mac Jones seeing it as the failed pick it was.

The organization should have traded Mac after the 2021 season when Josh left. Clearly there was no Viable plan at OC. Trading Mac would have spared the embarrassment. He wanted to trade him after the 2022 season, after the fact. Mac's people should have pushed for a trade prior.

I suppose it boils down to two potential outcomes. 1) Mayo and company successfully return the Patriots to Super Bowl Champion status, or 2) He and company are fired after 3 seasons (give or take a season). Only time will tell which outcome it will be.

Yes, that could be it! Kraft is a patient, thoughtful, calculated man. I believe that he made the right decision in Mayo, and to re-route the direction of the franchise because we were worsening. It all hinges upon the QB, if we hit on the QB and properly develop the QB we are on the right track. I really do like that AVP has a reputation of being great with QBs.

Once you come to the realization that Mac is really really bad and always was, you'll finally understand what the problem always was. Unfortunately I have to write the verb "is" since he's still on the team.

Your still in denial, it's ok Bill was great! He's the GOAT his legacy in the NFL history books it set. Mac as I said should have been traded. Bill made probably the biggest mistake of his storied career by keeping Mac on the roster and having his buddies coach him. Who would have thought Mac outlasted Bill!

The two biggest impact FAs the team could sign:

1. Calvin Ridley - A 75 1,000 8 season after missing a year from football is impressive. Considering he is 29 it'll be hard for him to get a 4 year deal. The pats can afford to overpay him with a QB on a rookie deal. There is alot of talk on a potential bridge QB but Ridley would be a good fit as a bridge WR1. While he isn't a top 10-15 WR he instantly brings the pats WR group to respectability & helps the rookie QBs development. Ridley, Douglas & a day 2 WR would be the team's best WR room since 2017.

2. L'Jarius Snead - Snead is all about BPA in FA. He was an all-pro snub & is arguably the best press man CB in the NFL. He is a perfect fit in the pats scheme could elevate the defense to top 5 status. The pats don't have anyone making 20+ APY & that needs to change. Snead would be a good start IMO.

Neither of these players would cost draft capital. You could also focus on QB & OT with the first two picks.

Great list. I would add a DE across from Judon. Like Josh Allen or Brian Burns or other. The Pats can add void years since BB didn't use them.

Then go after offense in the draft, QB and two tackles. It would be a much better team then people expect if the QB is half decent.
