Let's not overreact

A few of you are falling into that classic NFL trap mentality of, "If X did this to our defense, Y is going to tear us up!" Football, more than most sports, is about the matchups. Andy Reid offenses have typically done well against us, that doesn't guarantee that New Orleans will do better. They absolutely could, but this game will have no bearing on it.

New Orleans has been a top five offense for years. In that dome? Yeah this D is getting lit. The saving grace is NO doesn't have the pass rush KC does.

On the flip side, the defense doesn't have to play contain as their first responsibility because Brees isn't as mobile as Smith is. New Orleans has been the better offense, but the Pats will match up better with them on the defensive side of the ball in week two than they did against KC in week one.

And the whole point behind my post went right over your head.

Brady: 16/36, 267 yards= 27 points. Let that sink in. I give the Chiefs their due respect. They played very well, but calm down guys. Brady completed less than 50% of his passes & STILL managed to hang 27 on a damn good defense. I know there were a couple of short fields, but the points were still scored. KC is a good, solid team. Basically everything went right for KC last night (except Berry possibly being IR'd). We hung 28 on SEA in the SB & Brady played out of his mind. Let's not jump out the window because of one game. "Our season" doesn't really start until around Turkey Day. We need to keep things in their proper context. Let the GOAT coach work his magic off the field & The GOAT QB work his magic on the field & see where we are by Nov/Dec.

To me the team has looked out of sync, or just hasn't played well starting with the first pr-season game. To many new faces and injuries, the team hasn't jelled yet. Brady is going to have to get use to not having edelman. Being out of sync is especially true (as it is every year for the defense) It usually takes until mid october or so to start playing well as a unit.

You don't wanna overreact but you can't hide from the fact there is a lack of talent on defense right now and Brady is 40 and playing well at this age is almost unprecedented, he is the best ever but nothing is guaranteed.

If this continues for another few games then i'll be worried, right now it's mild concern.

That's the same D from last year. They will be good enough .... Relax.

I didn't watch the game last night but thought there will be a lot of over reaction here this morning based on the result. I cannot comment on Pats performance because I didn't watch the game.

Losing a home game sucks, especially to an AFC opponent and a potential AFC championship contender. From what I heard/read offense was not in sync, poor play calling at times and defense not playing well together.

I don't know much about the Xs and Os of football like most folks here do. I have confidence in BB to fix it and get the team back on track.

We are on to New Orleans.

People saying this team lacks talent on defense's ridiculous! This defense played well last year and where in the top 3 in run defense I believe. They added some good pieces. I thought the defensive scheme was very vanilla and Malcom brown had an awful game! To me they where more to blame than the offense in my mind last night.

How are you blaming Malcolm brown? How many runs were even to his area of responsibility?

And a 326 dime base is anything but vanilla.

Well there was a lot of miscommunication and they where giving up the short stuff. It was ugly on both sides but uglier by the defense

How does that mean Malcolm brown was at fault.
I mean it seems like you didn't even pay attention, are pissed off that we lost a game, picked a guy you don't like and made up a post that he sucked.

Outside of the 75 yard bomb which was 2 players playing different defenses, a mental lapse, not inherent defensive issues, in the first 3 quarters KC had 8 drives. 6 of them totalled 20 plays 42 yards a turnover and 5 punts.
The defense was fine for 3 quarters. The 4th quarter was a disaster.

Brown could have collapse the pocket a little more you know. If you think he had a wonderful game than idk what to tell you.
