Do you have a link for this?......

Sigh.

Once again, post #50.

I cannot fathom why there is so much controversy over a guy who is the very definition of a JAG.

Nice play on words!

Kyle Love was a very serviceable player for the Patriots who made the team as a UDFA. Great accomplishment, and many are very appreciative of what he did. It's a shame he now has Type 2 Diabetes - - professionally, he is a 6'1" 310 lb DL who now cannot eat sweets or have much fat in his diet. I'm sure his doctor is telling him to lose body weight.

Is it fair? No.

As Mike Reiss reported, the Patriots were willing to pay him for a year to get his health concerns straightened away.

He chose to maintain 310 lbs and keep playing immediately. I hope he made a good decision.

No hostility at all.

I disagree with your medical assessment. If that makes you sensitive or defensive, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to upset you at all. However, when I see a non-truth, I call it out.

There are heart attacks and then there are heart attacks. There is a BIG difference (mile wide) between a heart attack precipitated by a weak heart, high cholesterol, bad arteries, and (yes) Type 2 Diabetes etc. and a heart attack that was medically induced. Armstead had a medically induced heart attack.

Simple as that. It's not about you or me.

Excellent work. You've done a fantastic job in refuting a claim that literally nobody in this thread made. That's definitely something to hang your hat on at the end of the day; you should be really proud.

I mean, I appreciate what he did, but he was a replacement level player and nothing more. In this situation, you give a tip of the cap and move on.

Oh, so him having diabetes did have a direct effect to why he got cut.

Of course it did. You're obviously confusing me with another poster.

They offered him a paid year off on the Reserve List to see if he could get his health situation to a place they felt was safer. He refused. They cut him.

They did not wait to cut him until the end of TC. They did him the respectful thing, after he refused the one year on the list offer, not to mess around with him and they cut him so that he could best pursue his intention with another team.

I love how some people feel like they are educated enough to make "medical assessments" (maybe you are and if so, good for you). Even if you are qualified, we likely don't have all the facts.

Also, I love the line "There are heart attacks and then there are heart attacks".......whattt?!?!

Your right, a heart attack is a heart attack. Simple as that. There are many things that can cause heart attacks. Armstead had a heart attack. He has alleged that the cause of that was a drug given to him. That is his claim in a lawsuit that has been approved, but has not been settled. There were 2,880 roster spots in NFL camps last year and the guy didn't even get a rookie try-out. I wonder why that is? Maybe because he had a heart attack?

Hopefully he is fine and works out to be a stud. But to dismiss the severity of his situation is wrong.

As mentioned in black and white here in this thread, I had a discussion with a surgeon friend of mine about this. I asked him what the difference is between what Love has and the Bruschi/Armstead situations. He was very direct about the differences. I outlined what he said above. If you want to read it, great. If you want to ignore it, that's your prerogative.

Exactly,I completely agree. I enjoyed him as a player and wish him well in Jacksonville.

I'm going to close this thread, but we'll end it on this note:

I'll always remember him for this:

You bet!

Kyle Love gave his all and was a good player.

I hope he's making the best decision for himself.
