Choosing what is best for the other owners over what us best for this franchise by definition means you aren’t a great owner for this franchise.Don't really see why. "Kraft is a great owner for this franchise," and "Kraft will cave under pressure from the entire rest of the owners' room" are not contradictory statements. There's nothing to reconcile, both are true.
Well, they can't do that because the NFL operates and maintains the headsets. So, if they fail during a game (regular or post-season) it's on them, not Bill Belichick.
You know that. I know that. I think a vast majority of posters on this board not only know that, but they could also point to multiple examples of headset issues in games not involving the Patriots.
I should have used a different example, but my point was the league could use an inconsequential issue in the future as the springboard to assess severe penalties against the Patriots. They could claim that the injury report was not up to the league standards, that there was tampering to bring Bennett back, that the Patriots receivers were wiping their hands on sticky towels on the sideline, that someone used a cellphone on the sideline, that an opposing team found a bug in their locker room or that the league headset operators experienced "irregularities" at Gillette Stadium that they could not explain. As we have seen with the league, it doesn't have to be a big deal and it doesn't even need to be true. They just need an accusation and they can build a case from there.
Really Kraft has only made 2 good decisions in his tenure......
1. Keeping the organisation in Mass.
2. Hiring Bill B
The rest has very little to do with Kraft being a good owner.
Just another money hungry P.O.S
Answering this question will tell you why we're laughing at you:Lol at disagreeing with this. Is that like holding your breath?
He absolutely chose not to appeal and he absolutely did nothing with this report.
I'm too indifferent to know what is/isn't.OK I wasn't sure. I'm too old to keep track of what is/isn't politically correct these days.
Because there's no possible middle ground between "KRAFT IS THE WORST ****ing ****er in the history of ****!!!!!!!!!"Great. Don't criticize or disagree with Kraft because that means you're "the most ungrateful bunch of people".
Then don't criticize BB or Brady or MP or JM or any of the FO in the future. Because doing so would be "the most ungrateful" thing a person could do.
I am humored by members stating they will quit watching once BB and Brady are gone. Bandwagon much? Kraft has publicly stated that he made a mistake, which is foreign territory to some. He made a mistake and admitted it. It is possible that the Patriots will have more Lombardi's then any NFL club. Although, I'm sure Kraft had little to do with that.

If he hadn’t hired belichick he would be viewed as a terrible owner.

You are behaving like an autistic child.
Simple questions.Because #2 directly impacts and often negates #1. Choosing what is best for the other owners over what us best for this franchise by definition means you aren’t a great owner for this franchise.

"often?" Running into a situation where you are going against 31 other owners is a thing that never happens "often."
No it doesn't. It's a weakness, but hardly a fatal flaw.
You know, Jean Piaget's theories of mental growth an development suggest most people graduate out of the mental state where they see the world in absolutes with no gray areas or middle ground somewhere around age 11. Still waiting for your turn?
You do know that there are other quality coaches out there. But since hiring Belichick was his own idea and he was willing to pay the price in draft picks to put the best man he could find in charge of his team, I don't think your hypothetical is anything but noise.
Oh my.
1. That was easy, right?
2. Hiring of Bill B: Does anyone remember the day Kraft hired Bill B? His previous head coaching record was 37-45. He was head coach for the Jets for one day and abruptly quit. During his Pats press conference he unravelled a small piece of paper and read a statement. Many members here would state that this was the individual they would have hired.....
How many owners would allow their head coach to consistently make moves as trading down in the draft, trading defensive and offensive stars in their primes? Or trading a popular linebacker to Cleveland for a 3rd round pick? In Bill We Trust is easy when your fortune isn't on the line. He built an empire from a franchise that played games at Fenway and Boston College. Previous owners were known for bankruptcy and lewd comments.

You missed these: 1. Although he tried to get public funding for his stadium, when that effort failed he built a state of the art stadium with his own money, except for some infrastructure costs. Other owners in similar situations have moved their teams. 2. He chose not to charge season ticket holders Permanent Seat Licenses which many owners and teams do charge. You misrepresented these: 1. Bill Belichick didn't " fall in his lap.". In fact, when Parcells abandoned his team and his job, Kraft wanted to hire Belichick then, but felt BB was too close to the Parcells regime for him to hire right after. Belichick was very eager to assume the head job at that time. While Parcells and Kraft were obviously estranged, Belichick and Kraft were not. 2. Kraft didn't "almost move to Hartford.". They were never going there. He unsuccessfully used that as leverage to get a publicly funded stadium. There's nothing wrong with criticizing Kraft for his handling of DG and his subsequent relationship with Goodell. That criticism is deserved. But, it's unfair to intentionally minimize his accomplishments as an owner, which have been significant. The simple fact is Kraft likes Goodell.
Kraft has voted in favor of Goodell's extension. The only explanation is that Kraft thinks Goodell is doing a great job;
and with all the hugs Kraft gives Roger, he must also love interacting with the guy.
The things we are giving him credit for are really not anything special.
1. He bought the franchise.
Counterpoint: He got a great deal on it because he had a contract with the team and they had no real options
2. He kept Pats from moving to SL.
Counterpoint: It's virtually guaranteed that Boston would have another NFL team. No way the NFL would just leave Boston vacant. Also he almost moved the Pats to Hartford, btw.
3. He lets BB do his thing. This one isn't really though. He lost a top 10 coach in Parcells for interfering too much, and then had crappy GMs. The only way BB was coming was if BB got freedom; and Kraft simply lucked out that hte greatest coach and QB of all time just happenned to fall in his lap. This really doesn't make him any better than any other owner.
The one thing he did have full control of -- to stick up for Bill and Tom -- he caved.

Kraft could have stepped in and tried to help, he chose the very owners who were laughing behind his back over Tom Brady.
It’s ok if he thinks keeping the people who are sabotaging him happy is more important than the man who got him the success he gots around bragging about, I just think it’s a crappy attitude to have.
