Kraft admits he sold the team out

Well no you just seem to get off on trashing somebody who you would not even have a team much less 8 Super Bowls and 5 titles without because he didn't fight a battle that most evidence suggests he would lose and lose quickly on to satisfy a need for optics.

Please, it's beyond tired. I was as sick if not sicker than anybody here with the deflategate mess. I literally got depressed over it. But I'm not going to lose my mind because a guy didn't want to fight a battle he felt he would lose and alienate and undermine two decades of building one of sports greatest franchises. If I thought there was a real prospect of winning I'd maybe change my tune. But I really don't think we were ever getting those picks back. So I'm not going to spend my time trashing a guy who not only saved this team but brought this region so much joy for the better part of 20 years because he didn't thump his chest and fight a losing battle to endear himself to the fans he already gave a winning franchise to.
And I will ask you the same question I asked earlier. If the punishment wasntaft was personally suspended for ten years, would he have appealed?

************ did he F over this fan base and TB12 and regardless how many Super Bowl parties he throws it will always annoy me about him.

Yeah, Brady and Pats fans hate Kraft so much that Brady demanded to be traded and the fans stopped going to games and watching them on TV.

Gods, who cares anymore!? It's OVER! The Pats won two (count 'em!) Super Bowls since Deflategate!

I'm not losing sleep over it. It just annoys me how he let BB and TB12 hang out to dry and chose his relationships with Goody and the other owners over his own employees who are directly responsible for the $4b valuation of his franchise.

Its just rotten.

Honest Question: Is referring to one of the Jewish faith as a "M.O.T" considered racially insensitive now?

My wife of 22 years is Jewish as is her family and I call all our Jewish celebrations, "Tribal Gatherings" and no one has ever taken offense?
It's not offensive to me at all. Maybe it is to others but I was just kidding. Of course I'm a bit irreverent and it's hard to offend me unless you drop a hard K-word in my face.

If the punishment was that Kraft was personally suspended? Yeah he probably would fight it because at that point he has nothing to lose anymore. He might die or be too old to actively run the organization in ten years. Here you were talking about a draft pick and 4 games.

If I told you could go go to jail for five days, but get out of it if you were to fight and beat a lion in a cage would you? Most would take the five days.

If I made that 10-15 years in Guantanamo Bay, well maybe now you take your chances with the lion.

The situation does matter.

OK I wasn't sure. I'm too old to keep track of what is/isn't politically correct these days.

So we agree that if it were important enough he would have appealed. That’s really all that need be said.

If I told you could go go to jail for five days, but get out of it if you were to fight and beat a lion in a cage would you? Most would take the five days.
This is irrelevant. There was no consequence to appealing.

If I made that 10-15 years in Guantanamo Bay, well maybe now you take your chances with the lion.

Yes it does. And I think, and most sane patriot fans agree that the penalties were severe enough to fight.

You seem to think a 1st a 4th And tom Brady’s reputation are not worth the trouble of objecting to.

Brady's reputation was taking that hit no matter what. Fans believed what they wanted to. If he won the appeal he still would have had the same people calling him a cheater. So long story short in the grandscheme of things we lost him for 4 games and 3 of which we won anyways and probably upped Jimmy's trade value. Won the Super Bowl that year anyways, so you can't say it hurt that season.

So we are talking about the draft picks pretty much exclusively. Is one first round pick worth suing the league? The one owner who sued the league did it over the rights to move his franchise. Draft picks are quite a bit lower. They are quite a bit lower than a ten year suspension to

He sold out his principles, team and fans to show his loyalty to a corrupt cadre headed by a vile pig. Otherwise he seems nice.
Kraft's principles have been consistent throughout.

Not raising any objection to, and retaining after his purchase less than a year later, the destruction of our logo, heritage and identity was totally indicative of his behavior since.

If the patriots appealed, ripped the wells report to shreds and the penalties were abolished Brady’s reputation would certainly have not taken the hit.
But let’s be clear. Brady’s reputation did take a hit and Bob Kraft CHOSE to do nothing about it. Chose to do nothing about it.
Nice of the team to win the SB and save his ass.

Who said anything about suing the league. He couldn’t sue until he appealed and he chose not to appeal. Whether or not a lawsuit is justified would depend upon the appeal.

But at last we agree he should have appealed if the penalties were severe.
We just dusagree that a first a 4th, Tom Brady’s legacy and the stain in the franchise are severe penalties for doing nothing.

There you go again with the all or nothing bs. Although I applaud the numerous ways you have presented it.

I have always been grateful of Kraft's contributions to this franchise and to this state/region. I've stated that numerous times. However those actions do not erase his cowardness during either of the gate scandals. They were weak. It is what it is.

Everyone of your posts compounds your ridiculously weak position and your "Hug the Principle" philosophy.

Not fighting a battle in which you are right because you may lose is a cowards montra. I didn't suggest nuclear options or scorched earth so please try to stay away from those in your next "all or nothing" response.

Kraft can continue to Hug, Kiss, Praise and Support the Fraud all he wants and I will continue to think he's a coward. Btw: Those aren't optics rather his actions.

"Good for the 32" "Being a good Partner" doesn't seem to have helped the NFL product has it?

Bob Kraft, STFU
He makes himself look like a total idiot when he says his "good name and reputation" are important to him.

Still waiting for his formal rescinding of his insane apology to his fellow owners and opposing coaches on April 1, 2008.

Not really. The "capitulation" comes with the package that is Robert Kraft. I dunno about you but Kraft always struck me as softspoken and diplomatic. Expecting that guy not to respond to the crisis in a softspoken diplomatic way is an exercise in wishful thinking.

So you're basically saying a coward will respond like a coward.

To fit this into your Aesop spiel refer to The Scorpion Coward and the Frog.

"Why did you capitulate Mr. Kraft?"

"Because I'm a coward and that's what cowards do."

I appreciate the fact that he bought the team so they didn't relocate, provided stable ownership for 3 decades and hired BB.

************ did he F over this fan base and TB12 and regardless how many Super Bowl parties he throws it will always annoy me about him.
Do not forget he also F'd over BB in 2007.

Bill himself, was too classy to argue with the league commissioner.

DefameGate = CameraLocationGate

Only difference is the calendar. Period.

so what's to stop the league from "messing up big time" again and banning Belichick for a year because an opponent's headsets failed at Gillette during a playoff game?

Well, they can't do that because the NFL operates and maintains the headsets. So, if they fail during a game (regular or post-season) it's on them, not Bill Belichick.

You guys that are defending him realize that he isn't writing you into his last will, right? I like the pivot, though. You all went from: "He didn't screw up. There was nothing he could do. He's a great owner though because he bought the team a couple of decades ago and made some sound financial decisions based on nothing more than making some gains toward the bottom line", to now "Yeah he screwed up. He's a great owner though because he bought the team a couple of decades ago and made some sound financial decisions based on nothing more than making some gains toward the bottom line". So at least progress is being made with some of you on that front. You should feel proud of yourselves.

Taking a bigger picture look at some of the reactions and the absolute mental gymnastics to defend what is indefensible, "can-do-no-wrong" attitudes like this toward men in power are how dictators rise.
