Khalil Mack traded to Chicago

The Raiders picked a goddamn running back with the Mack pick last year. He's a fine running back but he's still just a running back, and this year it's basically a swap of a high 1st for a mid 2nd. The Bears are stuck in hell because they evaluated Trubisky as better than Mahomes or Watson, not because of that trade. They'd be damn good, a Super Bowl favorite perhaps, if they had Mahomes, and they could've gotten him without needing to trade up like nincompoops... hell, they could have traded down.

Draft pick trades don't mean much. Consider the cost to move up one spot to take Trubisky, a headscratcher back then. For the Niners, it turned into Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, and Dante Pettis. None of those players were any good. Then again, neither is Trubisky. At least with Mack, it's a known quantity who is extremely good. The list of players I'd give up two 1sts for is pretty small, but Mack would be on it. (Mahomes, Donald, Watt, Mack, Gilmore, Watson, Miller, Julio, Hopkins, Michael Thomas, Wagner, Kuechly, Lawrence, Ramsey - that's probably it, and the linebackers are questionable.)

It would look a little better if their offense could move the ball and keep them off the field all the time. Aside from the Saints putting up 36 they have only given up 20 points 2 other times.

The Bears could always get in on the Bridgewater sweepstakes, but they’re going to be paying a 29 year old $26.6M. The Raiders will enter the offseason with around $70M to spend while the Bears only will have around $12M. They will also have two firsts again this year while the Bears won’t have that draft capital to look for a Trubisky replacement. Finally, Mack has tallied one sack over the last four games while the first guy they took with the pick they got from the Bears, Jacobs, is the current favorite for OROY and Farrell is starting to come into his own. This was a clear win by the Raiders. That the Bears gave that up while Trubisky ended up sucking a fat one actually makes the trade even worse.

And when you are talking about stats relating to something like football, sample size, Context, when and how the stats occur (a play made when down 40 counts the same as one that decides a game) the situations that they occur in, and many other factors make them less reliable in proving something.
It’s not like comparing 2 baseball players getting 600 at bats where all the variables come much closer to evening out.

Also Chicago would be contending for that division w a solid offense. Like get Andy Dalton & you really have a shot at that div.

Oak took Ferrell who has #'s comparable to Wino. Liked the player but you have to go w Josh Allen that early who NOBODY is talking abt. Dude is a beast so far.

JJ who J really like but is almost useless after his first contract. That said hes been great no doubt.

I love JA but he's been hurt all year.
