People seem to forget we have O'Connel who I think wil be bettter than Cassel imo. We couldn't carry all 3 QB's so we got the best deal for Cassel.
I think we did ok and can't wait till the draft. Some teams just let players WALK and get nothing in return. This was blown way out of shape.
BB is no dummy.
Go Pats

I tend to agree somewhat. O'Connell is a very talented QB. There was even some talk last year of him replaced Cassel before Cassel's season took off.

he may someday prove to be better, but I doubt he is right now (but I don't watch practices, etc). That said, the pats couldn't carry two QB's for that money so one had to go.

A bit early to claim that, but it's a hypothesis not without merit. His high draft spot speaks volumes about the staff's views on his potential. I see no reason why if he were pressed into action next season he couldn't duplicate Cassel's mid-season production (after he stopped sucking but before he became a 400+ passer.)

Rohan Davey says Hi

Rohan Davey says Hi

so does robert gallery.....and leonard davis.......and mike williams

but I am not sure what your point is.......are you saying that o'connell is another rohan davey? what's your basis?

Grow up. All of a sudden O'Connell is better. Why? Because you want to convince yourself that this was a good trade.

LMAO. Yes, O'Connell has all the tools to succeed in the NFL but we need to see him on the field first. On the field, Cassel was a possible top 10 quarterback in this league. Are you going to now say that O'Connell is in the top 10 without even seeing him play a game?

Kliff Kingsbury says "go mow the lawn.", and then waves to the O.P.

O'Connel was the only QB to actually lead our O down the field in the preseason. Cassel was terrible, I am fully confident he could step in

i wonder how many bust qbs would have gone 11-5 in Belichik's perfect system last year

my guess is 95% at the least

i think belichik could have made ryan leaf a winner

I know BB is good, but I don't think that is actually possible EVER

How quickly you forget that we also had a ridiculously easy schedule for a team coming off an 18-1 season and a Super Bowl appearance. Toughen up our schedule a bit (or just give us 2007's schedule) and I don't think we go 11-5.

Because nothing says "Future Hall Of Fame Quarterback" like leading a couple of drives against future grocery baggers.:bricks:

What the hell is going on with this fan base?

why do you assume you know more than anyone?

It was easier than average, but not "ridiculously easy."

And let's not forget that Cassel's play was good enough that the team could have gotten to 13-3.
