I think the best ceiling projection I've seen for him (for his rookie year) is he basically takes over Marcus Jones' offensive role from last season. He's a guy you can throw in for a few snaps to get a jolt with a gadget play, and that frees Marcus up to focus on ST/D. Now (and I think we're on the same page here), I don't think that alone is enough to carry him on the 46 man active gameday roster. He'll need to also have a role on ST if he's going to see the field in general.
This isn't to say that's his only role long term, but for 2023 that wouldn't be bad for him.
Booty isn't a Gadget guy; he's not even in the same Time Zone regarding speed & explosiveness as Marcus is. Did you not catch his "performance" at the combine? Pathetic... Didn't even attempt to improve any of those numbers at his pro day either, just ran the 3-cone which he didn't do at the combine (an ok 7.14)
If he can't cut the mustard here as a boundary receiver, then he won't cut it here period.
Wake Forest's AT Perry should've been the pick.
You heard it here first: Demario Douglas - a true Gadget Guy - makes the team out of camp before Booty does... Though Douglas' shuttle times are nothing about which to brag either... at all...
