Great Point! Keep reaching for straws

Vick ordered to avoid camp during investigation

NEW YORK -- Michael Vick was ordered by commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday to stay away from the Atlanta Falcons' training camp until the league reviews the dogfighting charges against him.

"While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy," Goodell said in a letter to the quarterback.

The NFL said Vick would still get his preseason pay and Goodell told the Falcons to withhold any disciplinary action of their own until the league's review was completed.

Goodell told Vick the league would complete its review quickly and that he expected full cooperation. The review is expected to involve conversations with federal law enforcement officials so the NFL can determine the strength of the case against Vick.

In addition to the league's security department, Goodell is hiring an independent investigator to explore the allegations in Vick's federal indictment, a league official said Tuesday. The official declined to identify the investigator.

In other words, your answer is "no". Thanks for proving my point.

Kind of like how Goodell suspended Pacman Jones for a year even though he had not been convicted of anything right?

The Pacman suspension occurred under the personal conduct policy. To the extent that Harrison's conduct was limited to acquiring and using performance enhancing substances, Goodell is prohibited from doing anything more than he has already done.

Is anyone else amused that it is a Charger fan, not a Colt, Broncos or some other team's fan gloating about Harrison's getting suspended for using HGH? There's no excuse, but there's a difference between a player who's admitted to using HGH to recover from repeated injuries and another who continuously denies being at fault for using steroids to give himself a competitive advantage.

At least Rodney is a man about it.

"Immediately after Luis Castillo was taken by the Chargers with the 28th pick of the NFL draft, current NFL players Mike Vrabel and Trent Green, serving as ESPN analysts for the day, ripped him as a cheat.

The following week, a legislator mentioned Castillo by name during televised congressional hearings on steroid testing in the NFL.

Castillo's saga has been parodied in a nationally syndicated comic strip. Talk shows and letters to the editor were rife with lamentations about his skirting the rules.

Which he did. He was the first to admit that.

Concerned that an elbow injury was taking too long to heal, Castillo began taking androstenedione in January to help him heal. At the NFL combine in February, he tested positive for the banned substance, causing people around the nation to question the integrity of a kid they had never met. "

I wonder how long it will take Mike Vrabel to make some excuse for Rodney Harrison this time around.

I wonder how long it will be before an arse like you grows up and leave because you're a troll?

Castillo's claim was as much BS then as it is now. Just as Merriman's was. At least Rodney had the balls to admit that he took the stuff.

Hmmm...I am pretty sure that Jones was on probation when he got pulled over in Georgia and failed to report it to the team as per the conditions of his contract. Causing the incident at the strip club by foolishly tossing 82K in the air.

WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO KID? Jones is a moron and charges were pending when Gooddell suspended Jones.

Reality check time.

"Harrison and Wilson were subjects of an investigation by the Albany (N.Y.) County District Attorney's office into an Internet drug scam."

It's easy to be a man about it when you know you are part of a criminal investigation that has already caught you. If he had lied to investigators he'd be facing criminal charges and jail time. That made his decision to come clean real easy. It was all about self-preservation.

It's easy to be a man about it when you know you are part of a criminal investigation that has already caught you. He didn't want to face criminal charges so he fessed up. If he had lied to investigators he'd be facing criminal charges and jail time. That made his decision to come clean real easy.

Is there anything at all that Rodney could have done that would be acceptable to you, oh pure of heart? He's admitted it. What more do you want? Should he cut off a hand?

Too damn funny!

Remember last year? You guys just UNLOADING on Merriman?

What?

What ya got to a say now?

Keep up that he should be banned for life attitude like you all were spouting off last year.

1. Rodney admitted to HGH. Merriman got CAUGHT with steroids. much different..1s man enough to admit

2. Merriman didnt use it to recover from injuries. Harrison did.

3. Harrison hasnt been dominating since he just took this. obviously wasnt performance enhancing while Merriman broke out during the whole steroid scandal

4. ones a classy player, other is not.

It's just a little bit ridiculous to give the guy props for admitting he did it when he had no choice. It was admit it or face far worse consequences.

Barry Bonds is the subject of a Federal investigation also. He repeatedly denies taking STEROIDS. I must have missed the story where he was arrested.

Not true Charger fans were pretty happy about seeing the

Props to Harrison for admitting doping only to recover from injury faster but not to gain a competitive advantage as if he is the only player in the NFL that has had to deal with injuries

Well at least you guys had an excuse for losing to the Pats because Fairymann was suspended when they played the Pats....................He was out during that game, wasn't he? He wasn't? We beat you anyway? Well at least you can say you didn't lose the following week. You got us on that one.

Every situation is different, different participants, different levels of evidence. Doh.

Didn't we pick up Rodney from the Chargers?

He must've learned about HGH from his days as a Charger.
