You didnt say more likely than not you said cut him and save the trouble.
Nice that we didn't do that with Brady, or Ben Watson.

It's called sarcasm, Andy. But you knew that and just wanted to start an argument regardless. It's especially questionable given this post...

It sounds like Triumph is. I have high expectations for Boyce. I think he's going to be a hit in this offense.

On top of also mentioning that there have been examples of redshirts working out here and there in the very post that you have a bone to pick with.

There also aren't all that many examples of failing as you think. Dumb premise anyway, a guy suffers a season ending injury in preseason of his rookie year, and you are arguing to not just cut them instead, you would need proof that more of those guys succeed than fail. Your point fails, epically.

Chad Jackson, Terrence Wheatley, Shawn Crable, Ron Brace, Brandon Tate, Tyrone McKenzie, Taylor Price and maybe soon to be Ras-I Dowling are all players who, for one reason or another, were redshirted their rookie seasons. They were all guys who had moderate to big expectations that washed out after redshirting their rookie years. And those are all since 2006. So no, it's not as big as some people here make it out to be. You're correct about that. But it's not as insignificant as you're making it out to be either.

We're writing Boyce off for the season over a broken little toe?
He will likely expire by Memorial Day. Interment and associated ceremonies will be private.

This was your comment
If that happens, the coaching staff might as well cut him this season and save themselves the trouble. The chances of a redshirt year working out for the player in the future, as we all have seen, is pretty unlikely (though it has happened here and there).
We both know that is not sacrasm. Your backtracking comment came after mine.

I didn't say cut him, you did.

Chad Jackson was not redshirted his first year, he played in 12 games.
Wheatley also was not redshirted his first season, he played in 6 games then was injured.
Ron Brace played 9 games and started 2 as a rookie.
Tate started on PUP then was activated, also not a redshirt, and started the next season.
Dowling too, was not redshirted, he suffered injuries.

Considering more than half the players you think were redshirted clearly were not, I'd say my comment that it isn't as common as you think it is has rung true, by your own answer.

no...you guys don't know the full story..he broke his little toe you see ...and then it wouldn't heal...they waited and waited and still no change...so they bring him into Foxboro and the Pats orthopedist looks at him in the training room and discovers the toe hasn't healed because it's gone septic!...then the inattentive doctor takes the cotton swabs he used to clean the infected little toe and throws them in the clean laundry bin!!!...well, guess now you can all see how the entire rookie class got infected with necrotizing fasciitis. Yeah, the entire rookie class is rotting away as we speak right now!!

I'm sure more on this later from Triumph News Wire as the story develops....
