Jones Should Be Greatly Improved In 2022

If we can improve our skill players the way the bills have done for Allen then Mac will be fine.

I get being skeptical of Mac Jones’ ceiling. I do not understand how you can think he’s mediocre or can’t play.

The pats scored 48 offensive TDs. They were 10th in 3rd down pct. By most metrics Mac was an above average QB.

I’m not sure there was more offensive production to be had with this personnel. He should be a top 10 QB & the pats will have a top 10 offense once there is a #1 option in the passing game IMO.

Can't believe I saw Mac Jones throw to Tyreek Hill wearing a Tyree jersey to do the helmet catch. With Tyree watching

Dude.

Our fanbase is literally oblivious to what makes a good quarterback, who is a good quarterback, and who will be a good quarterback.

Bunch of us wanted to move on to Jimmy G / were happy to move from Tom / thought Tom was finished from like 2012 on / entertained Matt Cassel discussions after 2008 / now think Mac Jones is a franchise quarterback.

Spoiler alert: Josh Allen and Mac Jones will never be in the same category. Buffalo is going to continue to get more solid, more reliable, more dominant, because with their quarterback, you don’t have to pretend. You can literally just watch it happen, on television, right in front of you, in real time.
probably unfair to try and compare Jones to Allen right now. Jones just completed his rookie season and did fairly well with embarrassingly poor group of WRs. Allen has a darn good offensive group and has gotten over the first few years of learning and improving.

Jones has even been compared to prime Brady so, we are dealing with some fanciful hallucinations here.

Yeah that’s messed up. I know Mac was literally like 10 years old at the time but read the room. Imagine if a new Bills kicker was doing a reenactment of Wide Right for laughs at the Pro Bowl.

I think those comments were based on the comparison of Mac in his first year and Brady in his first year when both were perceived as "game managers". I think Mac has some good potential and thought he had a very good year for a rookie.....by far the best rookie season last year.

That is understandable.
I'm pretty sure that I saw a post in another thread that mentioned he can't zip it like TB did to Edelman in a SB. Which is true....for now.

Sophomore slump is a thing & if Bill doesn't make an effort to give Mac real toys, he might not make the leap we're all dreaming about.

If this was after Josh Allen's rookie season, there would be plenty of people who would be saying "No way rookie year Josh Allen will ever be as remotely as good as 2022 Josh Allen and it is stupid to even suggest it".

Man I hope you're wrong because if Allen doesn't have a high football IQ, the way he sliced through our D like butter, makes me question how bad the D really is.
Allen & the Bills scored 6 points against the Jaguars. Mac Jones scored 50.

Mac competed in a contest of passing accuracy last night. He was embarrassing.

This is always an insane argument, literally everyone knew that when he was drafted that Allen was going to be a boom or bust developmental talent. Mac Jones was completely the opposite, he was sold as the most complete pro ready prospect.

He also won the thread the needle competition...

Macs second year success will be directly related to the amount of work he puts in during the off-season...

There are going to be things we can look at and gauge where he's at... How quick are his reads... Is he still getting honeytrapped by clever dbs... Is he making smart, high percentage throws... Etc...

Then there will be some things we can't judge because we don't know... Reading the defenses correctly... Setting appropriate protections ... Throwing Mechanics... Grasp of the entire playbook... While we don't know the coaches do...

The second season ... In what is hopefully a long and productive career ... Isn't a make it or break it deal... As long as there is progression instead of regression, it's all gravy...

I would love to hear McD's assessment of Mac's future potential.

Imagine joining the forum during the “Cam era” for anti-Brady diatribes and telling people that have been here 10-20 years they’re Bills fans.

The mods are really about 8 years late to the game here.

First off, I've already made it clear regarding the Brady forum - which I created - was a way for people to actively follow him and the team. I understand there were some who were upset he left, both with the team and for Brady's decision. There were people on both sides of the argument and rather than have a ton of threads about him and the Bucs on the main board, I set up that one so they wouldn't be stuck in a mega thread that would be difficult to follow.

Yes, I understand there were some who were upset with the people who supported him and not exclusively the laundry. Yes, I understand there were plenty of exchanges. However, everyone is free to do whatever they want when it comes to who they root for and I'm not getting into silly disagreements like that because last I checked, we're all adults here. The ignore function works for a reason and I enhanced it recently to help make it more effective. If you're ignoring someone and they keep going, then yes, that's when I'll get involved.

BTW, these general "mod" statements are irritating.

For the record, the current active Mods in this forum are:

Myself
@ashley1992
@Ross12
@jmt57

Other than political posts or anything inappropriate, or nasty posts aimed at other people, not a lot gets deleted here. They all help out in their free time and do a great job here. Also keep in mind it's impossible for us to read every single post in every single thread. That general statement targets just 4 of us, and it's not like any of us go looking to delete something and pick a fight with anyone.

We're just not always in the mood to get involved in disagreements that should be relatively easy for people to just disagree and - if necessary - put that person on ignore and move on. So if there's an issue, hit the report button or message me privately. But I hope I've made it known that there are only a few of us and I'm sure I don't speak for just myself when I say statements like this bothers me/us.

Sure, but do you have any black mods? Just asking for a lawyer friend of mine.
