Joey spouting off at the mouth again,What he does not realize is the there will no longer be a Brady Less Patriots team to take advantage of and win the East.

Miami was a pure fluke last year,True that Parcells turned that team around pretty fast and the Wildcat formation had teams scrambling for answers but the Wildcat is no longer a surprise and the other 3 teams in the East will make life for Miami much tougher in 2009.

My guess is Miami finishes 3rd in the division this season @ 9-7 but Porter thinks otherwise ....

Technically, he's not lying. They are defending division champs. For now.

I agree. It doesn't change the fact that Porter is a loud-mouthed pompous arse.

No one's arguing that. I think that guy can be on an 0-16 team (which he almost was) and still talk like he's the best thing ever.

This from the same lips that kissed Coach Cowher.

Here, here. I'm loving the offseason drama.

It'll make their regular season thrashings that much more enjoyable.

They finished 11-5, tied for 11-5. He claims Miami beat teams to win the division. The fact is, they went 1-1 against the Patriots. Fine, an arbitrary tiebreaker gave them the playoff nod. But this, "wea re the Champions" stuff is lame. Champs of the AFC East? Hello, you were tied.

I can't wait until the season starts we punch all those guys in the mouth. Joey Loudmouth Porter and the Phins, Sexy Rexy & Dirty Sanchez and the Jest, & old man T.O. and the bills. 9/14/09 The Return of Brady, The entire NFL is gonna be on notice that Real Champs are back and ready to dominate once again.

Somewhere Bill Belichick is saying, "They're not defending anything. That was last year which is done and has nothing to do with this year."

We all know all too well how the Patriots use this kind of stuff as motivation. Let the Jets and Dolphins keep talking. Heck, I hope the Bills start mouthing off next week. This is all just motivation.

Buffalo had ONE decent receiver last year in Evans - But they added another threat with T.O.

The Jets no longer have a 40 year old QB who will be tired and washed out by week 10

The Pats have Brady .. enuff said

I hoped they enjoyed last season - It probably won't be a repeat in 2009

T.O.'s presence in Buffalo

Porter talking in Miami

The Jets talking in New York.

Seems to me as if AFC East games will be pretty intense for the Patriots this season. 6-0 ought to solve the problem.

dont be so hard on porter....he was talking about last season.....he hasnt caught on yet

Technically, 2008 is over - That Dolphins team from last year is not relevant to the 2009 discussion as they don't even exist in the same composition as they did in Jan of this year.

Same goes for the Patriots.

I doubt that.

I am willing to bet if ask, BB's reponse to Porter comments would be something to the effect of....

"Joey is 100% correct. The Dolphins are the the AFC East champions and the team to beat in this division. They played us in two tough game last year and got the better of us in one of them and we were just lucky to win the second one.

They are a tought team in all three phases of the game. And they made significant steps to improve their team in the off season. Jason Taylor who always has been a problem for us has returned to the team. They had an outstanding draft.

In order for us to win we are going to have to excute better than we did against them last year.

Porter is right the AFC East does go thru Miami, hopefully we will be ready when we play them."

I am willing to bet that is pretty close to what BB would say.

Sounds to me like he's responding to the comments coming from the Jets' camp. Next it will be TO's turn to say something. Fine, let all three of them talk all they want; talk is cheap.

I'm not sure what the purpose of these guys pounding their chests about how good they are - in June. Maybe it's a league directive to keep the NFL in the news. If you want to fire up your teammates and give them confidence going forward, it just seems like the place to do that would be in the locker room rather than in an interview with the press.

Absolutely. Maybe Goodell is paying these idiots to keep the offseason interesting.
