Joe Milton is a "better option" than any QB available in this year's NFL Draft.

Look, the Patriots have tons of cash and early draft picks right now, so it's not like they have to trade Milton in 2025 to get good players into camp. It will be also interesting to see if Josh McDaniels sees a role for Milton in the offense that is complementary to Drake Maye. If Maye and Milton get along and the QB room is in good shape, I'm all for keeping both guys this year.

Josh did a nice job with Brady, Jimmy G and Jacoby Brissett together - arguably the strongest QB room in team history other than 2001 when Charlie had Bledsoe and Brady.

Next offseason when decisions will be tougher - presumably less cap space and later draft selections - Milton or Maye could be just the player they need to move up the Board in more than one round.

This is a great problem to have.

So many so eager to drink this Kool-Aid.

Look at it from the viewpoint of the teams needing a QB now.

Are you enamored with using a top 5 pick on Ward or Sanders?

Milton may be an attractive option for those teams, especially if they think they can get Milton cheaper.

Competition drives the price up.

Pats are in a great position here.

Hey, Everything happens for a reason

The compensation would have to be right to give him up through because he has alot of value to us too. Don’t think id do a mid rd pick, honestly I would love move him for a proven player at a key need if FA doesn’t work out the way we hope.

It is hilarious how this team sucks but this forum nevertheless sees every player on this team as worthy of a first round pick.

Milton was a 6th rounder last year. He played reasonably well in one glorified exhibition game against the Bills.

People need to stop losing their minds regarding how much that one game improved his draft stock trade value.

This will be unpopular but I’m not trading Milton for a 3.

Too much value in a quality cheap backup AND if he ends up being a dude you don’t give him away for a 3.

Plenty of time…no rush.
A high end young backup QB is worth a 2nd round pick. Even if you only drafted him as a high floor backup and he was only ever a backup, he'd be worth a 2nd. So I agree that a 3rd is not enough.

Need another TC and NFL Season under his belt... like you said we have a lot of time.

You realize we are not talking about a LB or CB here, right?

QB is a different animal, and rationality takes a back seat when you absolutely positively need one, and don’t have one.

Milton has all of the physical tools and then some, and he seems to be high character.

Sure it is a small sample, but it showed Milton can play in this league. Can he consistently do it now?

No one knows, but he plays a position of critical need and there is a critical lack of those players available.

If Milton reaches his potential he is worth more than what we are discussing.

It is a big gamble for a team to trade a lot for him, but also a gamble for another team to scoop you if he turns out to be a capable starter.

Perhaps now you will all stop whining about how we won that final game?

Thank you Jerod Mayo.

Please let this be not ********. And yes losing the final game still sucks. Getting a draft pick, even if it's a 2, still does not out way sitting at the top of each round of the draft. Especially round one when you are not a QB needy team.

You mean winning lol

The more I think about the back up QB situation the more I think it’s a luxury having Milton where resources should go elsewhere. Having a competent backup at nearly all positions is very important but not when we can possibly get a high draft pick for a player that may never see the field in 2025. He won’t help us win many games sitting on the bench. IMO he should be traded for a high pick.

"Last season, Milton appeared in one game, passing for 241 yards and putting up 2 total TD's in a win against the Bills (who made it to the AFC Championship)."

Not throwing shade on Milton but the win against Buffalo was not against the bills who made it to the AFCCG, it was in large part against their understudy's understudies who were playing vanilla
Exactly! So hold onto him and watch his trade value grow with a few more games

This Twitter account started with emphasizing small details of reports out of context and then at some point switched to clearly just makings things up.

Trying to work multiple projects and keep up with combine news at the same time. Something is liable to get screwed up. Glad it was this.
