Vrabel preferred and prefers to depend on Dobbs, rather than Milton. Vrabel was never going to carry a 3rd QB for the express purpose of waiting 3 years to trade him. His backup is Dobbs and was never going to be Milton.

I suppose that Milton could have been kept on the 90-man roster as our #3 or #4 QB during camp. I suspect that would simply have been a distraction.
The trade of Joe Milton fueled the conspiracy theories and nontroversies of Sportstalk Radio for many weeks after and often continues to this day...
I won't ever be sad we chose Maye over Milton.
That said, I won't be surprised if Milton pulls on Dak what Dak did on Romo.
Milton has enough tangibles that supersede Dak right now. So, not shocked if those Poboys get enamored by his traits and throw him in there. He'll certainly have some impressive athletic plays, but he seems destined for mediocre due to his ****iness and lack of patience.
The love for Milton in this thread is hilarious. The people who said he would get us a first rounder are the same people saying he’s going to replace Dak.
One of the many reasons why I have chosen not to listen to Felger and now only listen to Bertram on Patriots Monday... the rest of their time is fueled by nontroversies..If Maye has an incomplete pass Felger is going to start screaming about what a terrible pick he was. His goal is simple, piss off as many people as possible so they will call in and he will get ratings.
Giving away Joe Milton is the biggest mistake the Vrabel regime has made.
Not bringing in a veteran LT is another boo boo. (VeeLow ain’t going anywhere.)
Drafting a kicker in the sixth round is looking dumber by the day.
Can we wait for them to at least put pads on before you unleash this gem you've had in the chamber since May?My main beef is that our front orifice felt the need to include the first pick of the 7th round (#217) with Milton for that measly 5th-rounder. ****ing gutless.
VD's gotta get on the field first; let's hope that begins tomorrow... And not signing a vet LT is one of the top reasons why we didn't "win" the offseason, not by a damn sight.
AND a ****ing long-snapperhead!!!
Those last 4 picks were ****ing Garbage; another reason why we didn't "win" the draft either.
He was injured last year. The previous year he went for 4,500 yards with 36/9 TD/INT.Somebody's replacing Dak soon enough, because the dude's a Choke Artist.
Lets say he did. Vrabel wanted a vet backup for Maye. He told him he would be the 3rd stringer and even if he was 2nd string he'd be behind Maye. He then demanded a trade.Do we even know if tough guy Vrabel had a heart to heart with Milton? You know, keep grinding, Joe. No locker room *****ing. Don’t go around telling guys you should be starting over Maye.
Can you manage that?
The guy has a MUCH higher ceiling than our current backup. Cowboys fans are feeling like Celtics fans when Red Auerbach was wheeling and dealing.

I wouldn’t.He was injured last year. The previous year he went for 4,500 yards with 36/9 TD/INT.
Every team in the NFL would love a "choke artist" like that - especially us.
However, the Cowboys collapsed yet again in the playoffs, and despite having one of the best-ranked offenses and defenses of the league, were defeated 48–32 by their rival, seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round, at one point trailing 48–16 during the fourth quarter. With the loss, the Cowboys became the first team to lose to a #7 seed since the playoff bracket expanded for the 2020–21 NFL playoffs.
