Having a backup QB sniping at the guy ahead of him who he's supposed to support strikes me as a "Jets" type move to undermine a young QB's career. I hope Milton has a great career but he needs to learn to STFU if he wants to stick as a backup anywhere.
I think it’s pretty clear your advice is moot, because Milton does not want to be a backup anywhere.

I wouldn’t.

I’d look at how that previous year you hyped actually ended:

To me that’s an epic choke job. You can debate whose artistry caused the choke but I’d rather not import anyone associated with it, especially the consensus team leader, thank you very much.
You're right... going 4-13 is just so much better.....

Giving away Joe Milton is the biggest mistake the Vrabel regime has made.

Not bringing in a veteran LT is another boo boo. (VeeLow ain’t going anywhere.)

Drafting a kicker in the sixth round is looking dumber by the day.

Sam, you really should just stick to one account, or make one of them a little more positive, instead of just never ending misery.

Milton is a kid with a lot of confidence
Unfortunately for him that is all he has

You really believe the Pats record for the 2025 season will be 4-13?

More proof you’re delusional.

lol

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that he's not going to win the job in Dallas based solely on talent. . . .

Dak is over 30, coming off surgery to repair his hamstring. No guarantee he’ll be able to start the season performing at a high level.

Milton shows as #2 on the depth chart, ahead of Will Grier.

I’m agnostic regarding Milton, but it seems to me he’s got much better prospects where he is than in Foxboro.

I never said what the Patriots record is going to be in 2025. I don't know what the Patriots record is going to be in 2025. But what I do know is they have come off back to back 4-13 and you look like a jackass turning your nose up at a QB who threw for 4,500 yards and 36/9 TD/INT because his team's defense got creamed in a playoff game.

lol

Milton lol. We're still doing this?

He was injured last year. The previous year he went for 4,500 yards with 36/9 TD/INT.

Every team in the NFL would love a "choke artist" like that - especially us.

P-p-playoffs...?

P-p-playoffs...?
Hilarious how so many people in here are so concerned with another player's playoff performance when we're coming off back to back 4-13.... that aside....

The stats are 7 games, just shy of 2,000 yards, 14/7 TD/INT ratio. So where's the problem?

This board would have a collective orgasm if we had a QB who put up the numbers Prescott puts up when healthy.

So you’re saying Drake Maye is about to cause a heckuva mess

I don't think you realize how hard 4,500/36/9 is. Let's not lose our minds here.

This thread will look pretty silly when Milton rides the pine all season.

I disliked the trade but for cripessakes… are we going to rehash this every week. Why don’t we see if he becomes a decent starter first before we whine?

Lets say he did. Vrabel wanted a vet backup for Maye. He told him he would be the 3rd stringer and even if he was 2nd string he'd be behind Maye. He then demanded a trade.

Milton is 25. He didn't want to sit. That we know for a fact. He wanted a chance to start and he wasn't going to get it here.

I really don't understand why fans want to keep this, "We should have kept Milton because....." thing going.

All of Stste’s *****ing and whining is related to his draft binkies, or those he didn’t want them to take. According to State, as recently as a couple of months ago, Spencer Rattler is better than Drake Maye, Verdarian Lowe is better than Will Campbell, and trading Joe Milton is a huge mistake. None of his takes have any basis in reality, he’s just saying these things because he’s having tantrums that his draft binkies weren’t taken by them, or because he hates who they took.

Would be a hell of a lot more exciting with Milton as #2 than Dobbs

That and a ****ty Qb room with distractions.
That's the issue, isn't it. We need to accept it.

With good coaching, Jones is a better backup that Dobbs. (Certainly, SF folks think so). [I HOPE that Maye has Jones rookie stats for 2025]
With a better attitude, Milton might develop into a better backup than Dobbs.
We could have drafted a much better #3 in the 7th round than our #3.

But Vrabel needed to avoid distractions in the QB room.
