Before the game, Gang Green's wish for QB next year looked like:
Now, after the game, it's time to admit it's time to say goodbye to the Mike White Era.
Basically, the SOFJ are SOL when it comes to QB.
I always new they could, i have faith in jete suckageThey did it. Just when it looked like they were gonna have a winning record after a 6-3 start, they rally over the final two months and clinch another season under .500.
Ahh, just another day in the jest neighborhood. Can you say suck?I just poked around over there…them bros are Salty. Lmao

Something I was curious about for a while. These are all of the QBs drafted/developed by the Jets and Pats since 2001, sorted by career passer rating. These do not include Brady and Chad Pennington, the QBs in place at the start of Pats' Dynasty run. I added UDFA Brian Hoyer to the Pats' pile, since they built him up from scratch. Mike White was drafted by the Cowboys, so he's not here, but he has a career 80.4 Passer rating with a 2-4 record. Chad P, by the way, has a career 90.1 rating with a 44.37 rating.
This just is an illustration that in an era in which the Patriots absolutely did not need to develop a starting QB for a decade and a half and the Jets absolutely desperately needed to develop a starting QB, the Patriots managed to draft four out of the top five most efficient passers amongst those with a good sample size (Garoppolo, Mac, Geno, Brissett, and Cassell all ahead of wannabe franchise picks Darnold, Sanchez and Zach Wilson).
Some notes:
Geno Smith's rating as a Jets QB is only 72.9, sandwiched between Sanchez and Zach Wilson. His Seattle rating thus far is 102.9.
The Jets have spent 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th round picks on QBs who have not recorded a single NFL attempt. The Pats irrelevant guys are only a pair of 7ths.
The totals were obtained by going to profootballreference.com today. It did not include today's games, so Stidham's rating will surely go up just based on today, despite the loss.
Draft capital spent by each franchise:
Jets 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7
Pats 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 6, 7. 7. 7, UDFA
The # of starts by guys like Bryce Petty, Brooks Bollinger, and Ryan Mallett are mind blowing. Something I certainly shoved down the memory hole for my own sanity's sake.
It's absolutely mind blowing how bad the Jets are at developing QB. They should be barred from drafting QBs in the top rounds by federal law. And also, the Patriots have been very good at developing QBs even as a side hustle, no matter how you currently feel about Mac, who has to be considered a shaky starter by any measure at the moment.
