Celebrating a little too freely after WINNING HIS SIXTH SUPER BOWL.

Super Bowl (proper noun)

The championship game of the NFL.

  1. The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League, the highest level of professional American football in the United States, culminating a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year. The Super Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game, rather than the year in which it is held. For example, Super Bowl I was played on January 15, 1967, following the 1966 regular season, while Super Bowl XLVII was played on February 3, 2013, following the 2012 season. The game was created as part of a merger agreement between the NFL and its then-rival league, the American Football League. It was agreed that the two leagues' champion teams would play in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game until the merger was to officially begin in 1970. After the merger, each league was redesignated as a "conference", and the game was then played between the conference champions. Currently, the National Football Conference leads the series with 25 wins to 22 wins for the American Football Conference. The day on which the Super Bowl is played, now considered by some a de facto American national holiday, is called "Super Bowl Sunday". It is the second-largest day for U.S. food consumption, after Thanksgiving Day. In addition, the Super Bowl has frequently been the most watched American television broadcast of the year. Super Bowl XLV, played in 2011, became the most-watched American television program in history, drawing an average audience of 111 million viewers and taking over the spot held by the previous year's Super Bowl, which itself had taken over the #1 spot held for twenty-eight years by the final episode of M*A*S*H. The Super Bowl is also among the most watched sporting events in the world, almost all being North American audiences, and is second to association football’s UEFA Champions League final as the most watched annual sporting event worldwide.

Pat's owner... hm... what's he up to?

:D

Last seen, he was engaging in serious discussions with his army of lawyers, while an army of spin doctors waits outside.

Uh...about 6 inches of Moishe Dean's Pure Pork Sausage, if the reports coming in are true...

Didn't I just see JerkFan79 claim to be a Giants fan in the Kraft thread? Someone should tell him that we can read more than one thread at a time here.

Quiet lately...

Not surprisingly you do Mr Joe Kerr a disservice. If he were a character in those movies he'd be the one that gets all the best lines...

Here's a selfie I took in pirate garb last Halloween, followed by another shot of JeteTwink79 from a different angle (without his hat) ...

It takes a while to rewatch six Super Bowls with the family and reminisce about glorious times, capped off with SB53 and the kids trying to design what the magnificent rings might look like, and then having them draw pictures of the six banners hanging at Gillette.

How are those mock drafts looking this offseason?

I've been binge-watching all the Three Games to Glory videos. Almost caught up, what with all the extra behind-the-scenes, celebration and parade footage. I was wondering: is the 20-minute highlight reel of the Jets' 1969 post-season exhibition win over Baltimore available somewhere in color and not just black & white?

I’m looking forward to a new season’s thread. Will the Jete get their Bell rung? Will Darnit be able to find a helmet that fits? Will Christopher “You don’t have to call me” Johnson continue to fill the Woody’s briefs?
