Jets Suck -- 2018 Edition (Official): Fifty Fabulous Years of Futility!

I truly believe that NFL draft historians will study for years the Jets 2017 draft as an all time squandered opportunity. They had so much draft capital, needs everywhere, absolutely no mandate to win, and two years of highly rated, interesting QB prospects to shoot for. They could have gone in any direction.

Staying put they could have chosen Mahomes or Watson. They could have traded back, tanked a year, and loaded up for 2018. The top two defensive rookies of the year were there for the choosing. They could have remade their offense, beefed up both lines... They could have done anything in 2017.

What did they do? Take Jamal Adams, who is good... ish. Marcus Maye who was a value pick. Two receivers who are already cut and no one else of note. Three 2018 2nd round picks had to be burned to trade up to get Darnold. It remains to be seen how he’ll rank among the 8 first round picks taken at QB in 2017-18. If I had to guess he’d be in the middle of that pack, but who knows? He has terrible offensive coaching, a poor o-line and few good skill players. And the two “good” safeties still could do squat about having Baker Mayfield eat them up in 2 and a half quarters.

In 2021, when Jets fans talk amongst themselves as to why they’re still 5-11 and Darnold seems permanently shellshocked, they’ll point back to the 2017 draft.

In other words, they're screwed.

Bates! The OC! That's who you're blaming? Darnold completed 8 bubble screens. The rest of the night, he was 7/23 for 90 yards and 2 INT.

Ever think there was a REASON they were calling all those bubble screens?

Your QB sucks. He is the PRIMARY reason you lost the game. Everyone else you name isn't nearly as responsible as the QB and his pathetic display.

Darn-it! sucks because he's a Jete. That's what they do.

"Buttheads" now have ' butt wipe ' TD celebration to go with butt fumble.. seriously can't make this stuff up...:D
"Buttheads," "butt wipe," "butt fumble," "Toilet Bowles" -- yeah, a definite pattern has emerged with this shytty franchise.

You didn't even mention that stench.

Looks like someone is in someone else's little green pinhead.

If he doesn’t get fired as OC after one season, this will be his most successful tenure yet. Or he could go 3/3 on getting fired after one miserable, disappointing season. So, you can see why this petty, excuse making loser is already in full form. Perfect fit for the Jete.

As an added little Easter egg, in both his seasons as OC (2008 Broncos, 2012 Bears) he coached Jay Cutler. I can see the Jete are building Darnold exactly like everyone thought they would.

There's risings and fallings among 31 the NFL franchises this year...some teams are looking terrific so far...some not so good.

But then there is the NY Rats franchise which exists OUTSIDE the set of the other 31 teams. The Jete aren't on the rise, and they are not on the decline...they are simply doing what they always do...they SUCK.

In that case, pretty soon Darnit will start smoking cigarettes and not caring.

"Pretty Bizarre" is right. According to Jeremy Bates, their headsets went out in Detroit and Cleveland, so the Lions and Browns were trying to sabotage them. He also said they went out against the Dolphins, a home game for the Jets. Apparently, Bates believes the Jets were cheating themselves.

Maybe what's driving Bates' comments is that his career coaching record against the Patriots is 1-5, with the only win coming in 2006, when he was an assistant in Denver.

Darnit...17-34...tremendous 50%!!~! Must be inspiring to see those 144 total yards when the entire 2nd half was essentially garbage time...but the rushing stats? That Crowell is a MAJOR FIND! 4 carries...ZERO yards...ti's the NEW J-E-T-E WAY!!
